Shawarma Press - San Antonio — Restaurant in San Antonio

My husband and I tried Shawarma Press for the first time today and we were really impressed by the service provided by Jesse! I love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, but I was a bit worried about a restaurant inside a Walmart. However, Jesse was so enthusiastic about the food and he explained the menu so enticingly that we gave it a shot. The meal was very tasty and even though the atmosphere was limited by being in a busy Walmart, we really enjoyed our food. But I was most impressed by Jesse's interactions with not just us, but several other customers who came by. He really represented the restaurant well, politely upsold us dessert (the lavender pistachio ice cream was amazing!), and did it all with a smile and a friendly attitude, even with the most skeptical customers. So this is a great place despite it being inside a Walmart. Their fries are literally better than any other restaurant I’ve ever been to and I’ve traveled 6 countries. The way they are puffy is almost like a funnel cake with their secret seasoning its delicIOUs and the manager is very friendly. We had the tandoori spicy mixed meat wrap and it was just the right amount of spice for you to regret your decision which is how spicy food is supposed to work. I am not much of a shawarma fan but this place slaps! The flavors are really great 👍 I admit I didn’t want to try it because it’s inside a Walmart but after shopping a while you get hungry. High replay value guys! I ate too fast...

The place was empty when we arrived, the cashier patiently and in a friendly manner answer all my questions.

The premises seemed quite clean, the food was delicious and lemonade is made from scratch (which tells a lot about how willing is the restaurant to invest in the quality of the food).

The only downside is that they no longer offer Tabouleh salad since people are not familiar with it, they had to remove it.

I’m definitely not fan of pickles, but half way my shawarma (“burrito”) found them and I still ate them. Actually, by then I was full, but it was so good that I finished it all.

Overall, Shawarma PRESS offers better price quality compare to others fast...
