Avoid Harvest Meal Prep at all costs! They claim to offer healthy, high-quality meals, but the truth is they use highly processed foods that they buy in bulk from HEB and Costco, including their pastas, bread, cheeses, and more. I spoke to the chef/owner, and it became obvious they don’t even know what they’re serving. When I asked about the rice, the chef/owner had to go check in the storage area—he came back and told me it was jasmine rice, but how does a chef not know that offhand? Then, when I asked what kind of potatoes they use, he said, "Honestly, man, whatever is on sale and available." It’s shocking that they’re cutting corners with such cheap ingredients and still charging premium prices.
Before you order, I highly recommend picking up your food from their ghost kitchen. You’ll see the poor hygiene and all the processed ingredients from Costco and HEB—definitely not the fresh, nutritious meals they advertise. My broccoli was completely raw and uncooked, and while the portions are large, it's mostly rice. Their published macros are suspiciously inaccurate, too, especially the carbs, which were way higher than they claim.
Also, take a look at the reviews—there’s something really off. So many of the reviewers have only posted one or two reviews. It’s highly suspicious and makes me think these are fake reviews to inflate their ratings.
Most importantly, this place is NOT healthy. Don’t be fooled by their marketing. They’re misleading, unhygienic, and dishonest. If you care about your health, do yourself a favor and...
Read moreI used this service for 3 weeks. I usually cook for myself, but I knew I was going to be super busy, so I tried this place out. I can see myself ordering from here in the future if i ever need a break or help. I mostly had dinner orders, like the cold pasta, baked ranch chicken, spaghetti and meat sauce, Tuscan stuffed chicken (my favorite!), almond crusted chicken, honey Siracha salmon bowl which were all delicious I definitely recommend . I did try the kit Kat balls, which were yummy. I just wish they were sold like the pictures in the menu with the chocolate coating. Not everything was great, I didn't enjoy the the 6oz chicken plate it was lacking in flavor and the chicken was chewy (i did not enjoy eating this one), sweet and spicy thighs weren't that great in my opinion, the BBQ chipotle chicken thighs had to be the meal i disliked the most it was sliced/chopped chicken thigh meat instead of served whole like in the pictures with canned corn and green beans (they put a lot of corn). The service was great, they send coupons via email, communication and service seemed amazing. I will def order from here soon. Its not perfect but its a great value, good food, hassle free, and a time saver. Btw I spent less on my weekly dinners with this service than when i buyiny groceries to...
Read moreCurrently in San Antonio for a 9 week course at Fort Sam Houston. I have one more week in this city and I just want to take the time to thank the team over at Harvest Meal Prep! Y’all we’re amazing and the meals were always on point! I live a very active lifestyle so I needed high protein meals, their steak plates were enough to keep me maintained. The meat is very flavorful, I appreciate y’all for using actual eggs and the cilantro rice just compliments the steak perfectly. I wish I can be stationed here in San Antonio because finding a meal prep place that does it right in a new city is challenging. Again thank y’all for the meals, I’m definitely going to miss them! This isn’t the last time I’m going to be in San Antonio but at least now I know where to go if ever I’m here again for a short...
