IHOP — Restaurant in San Antonio

I want to give NO stars. I don't think I have ever been so disrested. My friend and I came here with our daughters. There were about four tables in restaurant. We eventually got our drinks and then we placed our order. After we placed our order our server CRYSTAL came to us and said food will be out in a couple of minutes. Twenty minutes later still no food. Now alottle before we ordered two tables had came in. So after we waited for about 45mins I found the night manager sitting in the back with another employee who was not on the clock. I approach the manager and let her know we have been waiting for 45mins for our food. She said ok I just took my antibiotics. I am like there is no one In the store manager should at least go back in the back and help if the cooks are behind. She said we just finished cooking. She asked me was there anything else she can help me with. I let her know that was very rude and she act like she did not care. She went to the back and still 15mins later no food. Now after my Friend and her daughter received her food Crystal said your should be coming out next. Now still waiting two other tables who came after received their food. Now I am irritated cause we still did not received our food. I told them this was not right and I did not want anything by then. I hear Crystal tell the manager I no longer wanted my food. So obviously my food was never started and neither was my daughter. Which by the way I only had a wrap and my daughter a burger. Unacceptable. Btw the guy who was not on the clock was in the server station. He was basically shushing me away. I asked him why you back here he said I am off today. So he should not even be back there for SAFETY reasons to begin with. He basically said I don't care..... I let them know I was calling James (the GM) in the morning and also I will be contacting Moe as well. This staff was unacceptable and very unprofessional. Worst place EVER! Showed up at 8:10pm asked the waiter if they were able to sing Happy Birthday to my 8 year old daughter after we were done eating. He said yeah that's fine. We had 6 people total but would be 2 different orders. At 8:50pm we decided to ask where our food was and he said he would check and was able to bring it out almost immediately. Once he put what he thought was everyone's food on the table I informed him that my kids only received their French fries but no chicken. He then asked if it was chicken nuggets or strips. I said 1 of each. He brought out 2 chicken strips and said it would still be a few minutes for the 4 chicken nuggets. We then asked the female waitress that was walking by with ketchup if we could have it and she informed us it was almost empty she would get us another one. After 1 squirt of the new bottle it was empty so we had to get up and get our own bottle. 15 minutes passed and I had to go find our waiter to get the 4 chicken nuggets that somehow took longer to cook than 2 chicken strips, an omelet, and 2 chicken potato plates. We then received our tickets and I reminded him about singing happy B-Day and bringing extra plates for our cake and 10 minutes later neither had happened so we just left to pay. I was only charged for the French fries but the other party's kids plate was added onto my bill. We complained to the guy that rang up our tickets and all he did was apologize and make excuses that the waiter was pulling the slack of the 2 female waitresses who wasn't even waiting on people. There was 5 tables total and 2 waitresses and 2 waiters. My 8 year old daughter didn't get sang to on her B-Day nor did she get to eat her cake there. We were staying in the hotel next door and didn't have plates. I would strongly recommend going somewhere...

Honestly we felt bad because another customer came in by himself around 1am on June 6th and yelled at the staff because nothing was stocked and he got forgotten several times and finally called the staff out which made him look like a total jerk. Naturally we couldn't imagine why he would be so rude to the staff because they seemed nice. Then we figured out why. The staff wasn't rude but either they were severely understaffed or just not focused on service. My friend whom we we're with is super polite to anyone but they forgot half her order. We all shared two sets of silverware and had to ask for something to clean the sticky booth we were at. We spent about 20 minutes eating. Nothing wrong with the food honestly aside from an appetizer we ordered that never came. It just got forgot. The next two hours we spent waiting for a check that never came. Our waitress was restocking one side of the ihop the one closest to twin peaks talking to people who I think we're coworkers or friends, one was in a Mexican dress. (Looked pretty) but Ultimately had nothing to do with work and just forgot about us. We could have slowly walked out knocking glasses over and I genuinely feel nobody would have noticed. I still left a 5$ tip but it was just a formality. I honestly hope this was a fluke but this place is just not up to par these days. I think it's on its way to being shutdown or something. I know that's how the IHOP on Wurzbach and I-10 started getting before they closed it down. Hopefully whatever they replace it with will be proper and have some pride. I think all the staff were from Chicago. Our friend was heading there and that was the highlight of discussion. He's not really going there for boot camp. He's going to see his girlfriend....
