Second time been here since the first time back in Febuary 2023 when I was really impressed with the quality of food and authenticity of the flavor and I decided to come back again once I had the chance. However, this time they managed to disappoint me at every aspect a restaurant can be judged for. 1. The food quality and taste is traight up terrible. I don't know what happened, changed chef/ownership? changed to cheaper ingredient due to inflation? (I understand but I rather they took the approach to raise the price and keep the quality) 2. I usually don't care about services at long as the bare minimum expectation can be met. However, seen a bunch of kitchen staff wondering around the dinning area around 8 PM on a holiday weekend and started employee dinner already? 3. Military discount policy has been changed obviously. It was offered last time we were here in Feburary 2023 which was a Saturday. But they denied the discount this time around, "The boss says only offer on Monday and Tuesday". Wow that's such a cheap shot, you know what, most service member tipped more when discount is offered anyway. But whatever, they didn't give me a reason to tip more than I have to any way. Really really disappointed about almost everything and kinda ashame for the fact why most Chinese retaurant business follow such unsustainable business model, "Great at first, then just OK, then grave yard spiral down....." New restaurant in town, so we wanted to show them some love and give them a try. Called ahead of time and asked about wait times and was told that there was none. Drove there and was greeted with a 20-30 min wait time.... Once we eventually sat down, we ordered the steamed dumplings and their spicy wontons. The wontons were hand made which is always nice to see. Unfortunately, They were overly drenched in some kind of soy sauce, c'mon guys, let your food shine without too much sauce added. Another downside to the dish was the lack of filling inside each wonton, mostly consisting of dough. The steamed dumplings were also disappointing. They looked store bought and kind of tasted store bought. Not saying that they were disgusting, but more mediocre and lacked actual soup in the dumpling, which makes them less fun to eat. So far, not a great start for us. With the appetizers being so disappointing, we ultimately decided to share the sliced pork belly dish. Thankfully it was actually quite tasty. Not the best we've had, but once again, tasty. The dish also came with two personal sides of rice, which was great. But..... the rice was overcooked! As simple and subtle rice can be, don't overcook it! Lastly I ordered a hot green tea. Tasted like it came from the grocery store. Maybe that's neither a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.
