We were finishing up our San Antonio trip, and wanted something at least borderline healthy to send us back home as we were FRIED from boozing and ripping Texas BBQ/Tex Mex for 4 days straight.

After walking through the whole airport, Fruteria turned out to be one of the cleanest options, but we were still slightly let down in the food selection. It was essentially just tacos, quesadillas, and tostadas. I would have killed for a two egg breakfast at this point, but beggars can't be choosers.

We threw in the towel and were just like let's just get some tacos, as at least they won't be doused in crema like every other option in this damn airport.

When the tacos came, we were shocked at the quality. The eggs were actually freshly made to order, and it turned out to be a little omlette wrapped in a pretty decent tortilla with a side of salsa. It was humbling, as we had already written Fruteria off. Fruteria wrote back though...

Turned out to be all I could ask for when it comes to airport food.

My daughter and I were in San Antonio for a wedding in early October and chose Fruiteria to sit while we waited to board our flight. Food and Drinks were pleasant. We decided to grab some to go snacks for the plane, i went and used the self checkout and it rang up my cheese tray snack and a Ceasar salad that I wasn't buying. I tried to ask the bartender to help and she couldn't do anything to help because she was the only one working the bar/restaurant. She wrote that I needed a refund for 13.99 because I wasn't paying for something I wasn't buying. I took pictures of the receipt etc, she was supposed to give it to the manager. I have called this place multiple times and left multiple messages and have not been able to speak to this manager, at all. Their customer service is horrible and their food is subpar, drinks too. Save yourself the hastle and eat before you go to the airport. I work hard for my money and I sincerely do not appreciate being ignored and my money being...

Really not expected as an established business in an airport. The place not staffed well as apparent by the stock of dirty glasses in the food service window. I guess there are no bus tubs around like in the old days. Lol. I asked for a drink Menu and was presented with some kids penmanship chalk board thing with 8 or 10 things on it. Asked about reprosado tequila instead of getting the types they have, was told it would take my margarita from being 17 dollars to 25 dollars. Not answering my question which was "which repos do you have?" I said just give me a beer. It is hard to staff these days. But if staff is inept then at least provide a nice printed menu that can answer questions better than "service" provider. Beer was good so I left 3 stars. It was for...

Wonderful and thoughtful service. Food is great, and the salsa is unique with a hint of smokey flavor. On thoughtful service, I have a gluten allergy, and they were happy to accommodate it. They swapped out the flour tortillas for corn and cleaned the grill before preparing my meal. I told the bartender up front, and she communicated my needs to the kitchen. I was very glad with the level of service I received and the accommodations for my allergy. One note, you need to order at the bar even if you're sitting at a table.

Pleasantly surprised. Good prices and great food. Almost everything is handmade on site. The Al Pastor tortas are quite good as are the chicken tinga tostadas. If you have a chance to have a margarita they make the Mezcal on site and it's awesome.
