My family of four dined here yesterday evening. The restaurant never seems very busy but has been here in Stone Oak for a while, and gets good reviews so we thought we'd try it out. We ordered the antipasto plate and fried calamari for appetizers. Being an Italian family, we expected a bit more from the antipasto plate. A few crustini's with some small pieces of meat and cheese on top we're all this amounted to and it was a bit disappointing. However, the fried calamari was the best I've had in a long time. It was a good size portion, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. No rubbery bites at all!
For dinner, my husband had the veal parm and said it was good but he had better, my older son had the lamb chops and though I made him eat with a fork and a knife he finished off his plate licking his fingers after chomping the last bits off the bone. I'd say he enjoyed it thoroughly. It came in a demi-glazed sauce that was to die for as well, And we enjoyed shopping the last of it up with our breadsticks. My younger son had the special, Chilean sea bass with scallops blackened. He couldn't stop ooing and ahing with every bite. Both cleaned their plates.
I had the stuffed eggplant with a creamy basil pesto sauce on my pasta. It was absolutely delicious. It was not what I was expecting from a stuffed eggplant, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the superb flavor combinations. The eggplant was cut in half and hollowed out for the most part. It was then deep fried with panko bread crumbs and stuffed with bay scallops, shrimp, and vegetables and was covered in a beautiful saffron cream sauce. The creamy pesto sauce on my spaghetti was to die for as well. So creamy and smooth, I finished it for lunch today and it was just as good the second time around. We ordered A slice of Italian cream cake and a slice of the chocolate mousse cake for dessert, I'm assuming they order these in, but they were equally as delicious.
I ordered a glass of sangria with my dinner which was quite large and took me my whole meal to finish My husband ordered a glass of Chianti. The menu at Milano was immense and we all had a tough time deciding on our order. In addition, there was an older gentleman serenading everyone. The atmosphere was lovely The food delicious and the service impeccable. Our family will definitely be back to try some other items...
Read moreI did call ahead of time to check how long the wait would be, was told no wait. So we went right over. As soon as we walked in the owner cleaned off the table and sat us within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waitress was very good. Paid attention when water and tea was running low. Professional and courteous. Once seated, these savory warm rosemary rolls are served with olive oil infused with basil and garlic. Yummy! 😍 For appetizer we ordered fried ravioli cheese and beef combo. I prefer the cheese because I am a cheese girl, but they are both really good with the marinara, ask for extra because it is that good and puts the ravioli over the top. I ordered the chicken Milano. This dish is wonderful! It is a stuffed chicken breast with spinach, mushrooms, crabmeat, and top with a cream sauce, I think I included everything. On the same plate a nice portion of mixed steamed vegetables, angel hair pasta with garlic butter sauce (or red sauce), and three shrimp Milano with butter sauce. AMAZING!! The owner created this dish himself, and no I am not a friend of his, even though he is a sweet friendly gentleman, but we did have a conversation that night about this most tasty, flavorful dish. I usually get a glass of pinot griego with this dish (Lohr). I have been visiting this establishment for over 10 years. When it was located in Lincoln Heights. There has never been a time when I was disappointed with any of the food choices that have been consumed at this restaurant. I have been here many times for dinner on different days of the week and also for lunch. There is even live music on Fridays and Saturdays, he plays crooner music and other music but he will also take requests. If you are an Olive Garden fan, this is not that. No dis on OG. This establishment is definitely worth trying if you like great Italian food and interested in something different (in the...

At first when I saw the bill, it seemed pricey but when I got home with the food, I realized the dishes were good for 2 and were generous.
We got the Lasagna which Dad and I shared. Dad likes Artichoke and Spinach Dip. Probably better hot. My husband had the White Linguine Clams which were decent. Also ordered the Penne Pasta.
We had Line 39 Pinot Noir with dinner. It was from HEB. Pretty good for the price! Persimmon for dessert courtesy of my cousin Shirley in California. The fruits are from her backyard!
Overall, pretty good. If you're in the Stone Oak area, come check it out!
2020: My husband and I have been to the Wurbach location a while back and enjoyed dinner there. Yesterday, a group of neighbors were meeting up for happy hour so I joined.
Happy hour specials for both drinks and food are very reasonable and good to see the variety of the food offered. Several of us got the wine - some got white while some chose red. I chose the pinot noir and it was good. I also got the eggplant parmesan and added a side of angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. One of my neighbors got the shrimp milano, which looked delicious. Another neighbor got the ravioli with different fillings. Everyone enjoyed the food, drinks, and company! I'm definitely coming back to try their other food items like the scallops.
Talal, the owner, came by our table and seemed quite reserved. Dennis was mainly our server. He was quite efficient to take all of our orders and serve us our food and drinks. The only downside is that Dennis was alone to tend the bar and take care of the high top tables, including ours. This caused some delay for us to get our bill and pay. Perhaps they just happened to be...
