I made an appointment to see Dr. Hayes because of an issue that's causing a lot of pain in my eye. I took the time to fill out the forms with my symptoms, met with a medical assistant and gave her detailed descriptions of my symptoms. When I finally saw Dr. Hayes, he took a moment to shine light in my eyes, and then put some eye drops in. He said the eye drops just need to set and he would be back in 10 mins to see how my eyes reacted to the drops. Okay cool. OVER THIRTY MINUTES LATER, he finally walks back in. Shines the light on my eyes tells me he can't help me and I'll need to be referred to another specialist. He quickly tried to wrap up the appointment without offering me any kind of treatment. I asked if I could get something for the pain, and he says "Well, I don't see any reason why you should be in pain." Oh really?! Then why am I in an exam room?! Maybe if he took any time to look over my intake forms or ask me any questions, he wouldn't be so perplexed! He spent more time waiting on those eye drops than he did speaking to me. Once I insisted that yes, I am in pain, he recommended I do a warm compress once a day. Why am I paying to see a specialist just for him to give me the most rudimentary eye care I could have come up with just by googling "my eye hurts"?! So, I told Dr. Hayes I'm already doing a warm compress 3 times a day, it's the only time I'm not in pain. He finally gave me a teeny sample of some steroids (which doesn't address the pain). And said to see him again in 6 months? Why? So you can get paid to leave me in a room alone for half an hour? Last time I saw a doctor for this issue, he gave me a prescription and I was fine within a few days. Didn't need to be referred to an extra special specialist or anything. So here I am, still in pain, for probably another week and a half until I can spend more money and time trying to get...
Read moreAll the personnel leading up to my surgery were great! The surgery was surprisingly painless and quick! The reason for the low rating has to do with the post surgery instructions! None of it was verbal but I did receive written instructions which I didn’t read til I got home and noticed a prescription listed that I did not have! I’m supposed to be taking it after surgery so I called yesterday and was told the doctor was still in surgery and didn’t call that prescription in to my pharmacy yet! It wasn’t called in yesterday so I called first thing this morning and the person assured me that she sent the message over to the Stone Oak location to several employees there to be sure someone saw it and took care of it! Called back at 3pm because my pharmacy still doesn’t have the prescription so evidently no one at the eye center location did anything with or about the message that was supposed to be sent to several technicians. After waiting on the line for a while I hung up and decided to deal with this in person when I have my follow up appointment in the morning with the Doctor!!! Don’t know who is responsible for the lack of follow through on this but if this prescription is important to my recovery this...
