Came in for my annual check up with no issues. Was issued a new script for contacts. Put on their temporary contacts and took off. My doctor (I think he's the only guy doctor there but his name escapes me) he was super knowledgeable and friendly. No issue with him he was great.
My issue presented itself later that evening. I began to feel pain when I blinked. It was persistent and I tried to clean my temporary contact and get on with my day but no luck. I disposed of their temporary contact and switched to a warm compress. I ended up calling the next day when the pain was still there and the lady at the front desk said she could schedule a "follow up" for the issue.
Long story short, we go through the exam and the doctor says I have swelling in the eye. I get a steroid and OTC eye drops. Simple enough but then I'm told I'll have to pay for the visit. I'm a little surprised because I was under the impression it was a follow up as I had just paid for a visit. They say it's a separate issue. I explain that I didn't have an issue before I came in it was only after my visit that the trouble started. They said it was just a coincidence...Now I've had contacts since I was 7 years old and have NEVER had this issue before. I had gone to my appointment that day and went home. I wasn't exposed to anything new (also work from home/no kids yet). I asked if they thought it was a highly unlikely coincidence for the issue to happen after I left their office but they didn't seem to agree.
Today, I noticed that on one of the machines there was a smudge of foundation left from someone's chin during their last use. Maybe there's a disconnect with an employee in regards to cleaning tools and equipment. Perhaps the contact solution bottle I used had been mishandled or left open to exposure. I can only hypothesize as to where the mishap occurred. I'm truly not sure what went wrong but I strongly disagree with how this was handled.
If I had known beforehand they were going to charge me for the "follow up" I may have still gone for peace of mind. Had I known I was going to be billed (again) there wouldn't have been an issue. The problem is that we discussed a "FOLLOW UP" for an issue that only occurred after I received care at this facility. I may have also opted to wait it out as the pain I had been experiencing was residing. Whatever infection that I had picked up was working it's way out of my system naturally. I simply believed that the "follow up" would be the safest route. Again, if I had known there would be a charge my attitude towards the interaction would have varied greatly. I regret ever doing business with this location and will switch to a new establishment...
Read moreDont go here. Too many mistakes on prescriptions and orders. This place has gone down significantly in service! I have been going to Vision Source for a number of years and this last visit(s) have been terrible. First I'll start by saying that Dr. Allison seems that she is very rushed in her checkup. When i have gone previously with Dr. Denison, she seemed more patient with me and my orders always went in correctly. This time I went in for a contact lens and glasses prescription. When I received my contact lenses (3 boxes) they didn't work at all. It seems my left eye had too much prescription in it and I was seeing blurrier than before. My right eye was also over prescribed and when i went in to get the prescription fixed, it turned out my right eye didnt change at all! In the second visit, Dr Allison just placed different lenses in front of my eyes to get the right fit, and seemed rushed once the appt was over. Follow about 4 weeks 9/14 later I call (because no one called me) to get a status on my prescription.I spoke to Zach and he mentioned that there was some issue with my order from the manufacturer and that they were going to place my order and should have it in a week. I believe Dr. Allison never ordered my prescription (due to the rush she seemed to be in) and there really was no issue with the manufacturer. Ive been ordering these same lenses for a long time so I don't see what the issue is. Well its now been about three weeks and still no order and no call. I just called again and spoke to Zach again and he is again checking on the order. Its not been almost two months now and Im not sure if Im ever going to get my contacts. I threatened to cancel my order and i also am no longer planning to be a patient at Vision Source. Dr Allison and her staff are making too many mistakes with prescriptions and orders. I was even afraid to the point of not ordering my glasses prescription that she gave me as Im thinking that the glasses prescription may also be wrong! I dont want to spend $800 (because that how much my glasses cost there) on a pair that might have the wrong prescription. Im currently looking for another provider who is professional and has a more professional and reliable staff. Stay away from this place!!! :( Dr. Allison if you want to keep your place in business, please be more patient with your patients and get your...
Read moreVery unhappy with the service provided, as well as with the price. I arrived to my appointment 20 minutes early, only to have to wait a full 50 minutes for HCVC to "figure out" my insurance. After that was sorted out, I proceeded to the exam with the technician, who did all the usual stuff, no fuss. Then, the doctor comes in, we do the eye exam, and she asks about one of the tests the technician already performed. She informs me that, in order to get a look at the back of my eye, I must either receive dilating drops or pay an additional $40 for her to review the test I had ALREADY received. Since I drove myself, I had no choice but to pay the outrageous price for her to look at the photo.
Next, I went to the front to pick out my frame. No one assisted me in this process, and when someone asked me what I was looking for, I told her I was looking for a particular style. She then tells another associate that I was looking for something specific, and without asking what I am looking for, all he does is unlocks the Gucci case and tells me to check these out. I finally choose the frames I want, and proceed to the desk to check out. I sit at the same young man's desk from earlier, only to chit chat for roughly 20 minutes, without any action on his part to complete my purchase and send me on my way.
After my $200 insurance credit towards my glasses, my total was a STAGGERING $384 with the add-ons the doctor had recommended. I asked what these add-ons were, and confirmed that my insurance had been applied. After removing all possible add-ons, and choosing some of the cheapest frames available, my total was still $188. The kicker, though, is that I never received an itemized receipt. I was told that I would get one upon picking up my glasses, 3 WEEKS LATER, I might add, but no such luck. Overall, I feel scammed. I can get a better name brand pair of glasses (lenses included, with add-ons) at LensCrafters for less than the $188 I paid here, even without insurance. Go somewhere else, unless you just want to...
