MOD Pizza — Restaurant in San Antonio

Ordered on the app because they had a promotion which was basically bogo pizza. As soon as I walked in I thought wow this restaurant is so nice modern and clean. Immediate welcome from the guy assembling the pizzas before they go in oven. I went to online to go section and one of the employees apologized that my pizza wasn't ready, of course it wasn't brother I placed it 30 seconds ago! He then offered me a free drink because it was gonna be a wait - I thought hey they do have orange fanta but it didn't feel right because the wait was under a minute so far. Then ANOTHER employee approached me asking if I would like a drink while I waited (they seemed to think there was a printer problem and I was waiting a while, I waited max 4 or 5 minutes). The service is in its own league. As tables were walking out they personally approached the counter and thanked the staff for such a wonderful meal, I thought wow its not just me everyone loves this place. There is no reason to buy domino's or pizza hut ever again with mod. Unlimited toppings for the same price while everyone else charges 1.50 per topping? I got all the cheeses, meat, and veggies I wanted. It was such an awesome experience. They even boast a 100% inspection score. The Team, Management and the company are doing absolutely everything right. The pizza was amazing. I read the company prioritizes employee pay and good causes and now everytime I ever eat pizza it will only be at mod, because of the price, the service, the food, and I know they're a good company with good values. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I had such an upsetting experience at this MOD Pizza that I feel like I need to say something. I’m genuinely disappointed and offended by how I was treated by one of the staff members.

When I got to the counter, the employee had just helped an older couple ahead of me and was very polite with them. But the moment I stepped up, his entire attitude shifted. He was passive-aggressive and rude for no reason. I was on my phone taking care of something important, but I still made sure to be respectful and responded with “yes sir” and “no thank you” during the entire interaction. Still, he acted like I was an inconvenience.

When it came time to pay, I showed him my military ID. He said “thank you for your service,” but in such a flat, dismissive tone that it felt like he didn’t mean it at all. It felt more like an obligation than any kind of genuine appreciation. I still tipped 25% because I wanted to be generous, even though his behavior didn’t warrant it. I know he saw the tip amount, and yet he still acted cold and disrespectful.

I told him my order was to-go, but it came out on a plate for dine-in. When I reminded him, he actually smacked his lips and tossed the food into a box before sliding it over without saying a single word. Then he just walked away. No thank you, no goodbye, nothing.

I’ve never felt so disrespected in a restaurant before. I don’t want anything in return, and I won’t be back to this location anyway since I’m moving soon. Went for the first time yesterday. We stood in line for 25 minutes and the line wasn't moving at all, all the employees there were only working on mobile/online orders. They gave us no acknowledgement the whole time, until my bro spoke up and asked to speak to the manager and then the guy who was supposed to be manning the counter immediately started helping us after 25 minutes. Even if your busy please tell us you'll be right with us our something don't just ignore everyone. A few customers ahead of us left and a few thanked my bro for speaking up. The manager just told us they are understaffed but they had at least 6 people working? This was 8pm so not during peak hours... Food was decent but they gave me the wrong pizza on both my pizzas I guess they mixed up the orders in the oven. I did like how they made the pizza there fresh...
