I’ve always liked the food here. And for the most part all my visits had good service. Today, however, during day 2 of Restaurant Week, the food was the main saving grace.
Admittedly I booked the wrong time and one plus was being able to call and have that changed right away.
Once I got the restaurant, there were two people at the host stand. I asked for a table outside. I was seated immediately and no one else was sitting on the patio.
After 8 minutes, I went inside to ask for a server and was given not the nicest look from the young lady (hostess). From the moment I sat down to the moment I left, the hosts never turned around to check on the patio and just kept talking until approached by a guest. Definitely not a fan of that.
The silver lining is that when she sent a server over, she sent a winner! Gilberto was amazing, epitome of someone who understands service. He knew when to come to the table, knew how to read his guests and made great recommendations by asking questions on what I liked and also sharing that fact that he hadn’t tried certain items. I find honest servers to be the best kind. Everything he recommended was top notch.
The food was great. Except they didn’t have the Italian Donuts. During Day 2 of Restaurant Week menu when you only offer 2 desserts, it kind of sucks that at 1:30pm after only 2.5 hours of service; you are out of the main dessert. The other option was gelato and sorbet and that is just a staple in my opinion. Gilberto, true to his service professionalism, immediately offered to ask the chef if he could offer another dessert. I said it was okay, and that was because he offered and found a solution to a problem.
Dining Service: Great 5/5 Host Service : Needs help- 1/5 at best. perhaps have them focus on the floor and not each other. This brought the overall service down though Dining should not take the fall for a bad host. Food: 5/5
Order: Brunch Restaurant Week Menu
Arancini Pollo Fritto Cookies and Cream Gelato
LOVED every bite.
I dined from 12:20PM until 1:50PM on Sunday August 11. Hopefully this time stamp will identify those who need more training than others.
This is a good restaurant but bad service will impact your product if you...
Read moreYesterday evening, I had the pleasure of taking my wife to North Italia Restaurante for her birthday, and I'm delighted to say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked through the door, we were immersed in the restaurant's elegant atmosphere, which set the tone for a memorable evening.
As we settled into our seats, we couldn't help but notice the attention to detail in the tastefully designed space. The warm lighting, the comfortable seating, and the artful touches throughout the dining room created a sophisticated ambiance that made our evening feel extra special.
Our server greeted us promptly with a courteous smile, and we appreciated their extensive knowledge of the menu, which was incredibly helpful as my wife is a vegetarian. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they made sure to keep us well informed about any menu items that might have run out.
Unfortunately, a couple of the vegetarian options my wife ordered were unavailable, but the general manager swooped in like a superhero to save the day. Not only were they prompt and professional in addressing the issue, but they also went above and beyond to ensure my wife had a satisfying and delicious meal. We were truly impressed by their commitment to customer satisfaction.
The food at North Italia Restaurante was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was freshly made to order, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, showcasing the chef's skill and dedication to their craft.
In summary, our experience at North Italia Restaurante was top-notch, and we wholeheartedly recommend it for a special night out or a celebration. The elegant atmosphere, courteous staff, and scrumptious food will undoubtedly leave you wanting to return for more. We're already looking forward to our next visit, and we won't hesitate to share our positive experience with...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. I was dining with my long time friends after a long time of not seeing each other and needless to say I was extremely excited to have a good time at North Italia. From the beginning of our evening our server was very unfriendly and not very welcoming although he was never rude or disrespectful. We didn’t let it get to us because at the end of the day we were really excited to all have a great night. Our worst time of the night happened when General Manager Milton approached our table to collect payment and in a very hostile manner asked why we were talking bad about his server although we never even made a comment about him other than that he was unfriendly but again it was a rather faint comment not complain. GM Milton then proceeded to say this exact verbiage “ustedes están hablando merda de mi empleado y yo voy a defender a mi empleado” - “you guys are talking “shi”about my employee and I’m gonna defend my employee. We were extremely confuse as to why we were being confronted since it was a valid comment to express how we were feeling towards our server, which again was a comment about how unfriendly he was. We immediately got up paid and left we were extremely upset never in our lives had we experienced this kind of humiliation from a restaurant specially with the kind of reputation that North Italia has. To make matters worse ever worse as we were waking out the GM along with other staff members were laughing at us. We are beyond disgusted with the customer service from this restaurant. I have never in my life written a review about a restaurant but I felt the need to say something in hopes that whoever is responsible for this place is aware of the type of staff that is running this place. From one restaurant owner to another this is unacceptable for...
