Listen up, pizza lovers: if you haven’t made your way to Pizza Classics on Main Ave in San Antonio, you’re sleeping on one of the city’s most glorious, no-nonsense, full-throttle pizza joints. This isn’t your gourmet, truffle-oil, microgreen-topped nonsense. No—this is real pizza. Bold. Cheesy. Meaty. Legendary.

Let me break it down slice by slice:

The Four Cheese Pizza – A Meltdown of Magic This beauty is a cheese lover’s fever dream. A molten quartet of mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, and parmesan that doesn’t just melt—it sings. One bite, and your taste buds are swan-diving into a creamy, buttery sea of flavor. The crust? Golden, crisp-edged perfection with that slightly chewy center that makes every bite feel like a warm hug from an Italian grandmother. This is not just a cheese pizza—it’s a cheese celebration.

The Hamburger Pizza – All-American Glory, Reimagined You think hamburger pizza is basic? Think again. This one brings the flavor heat. Perfectly seasoned beef—juicy, slightly smoky, and layered with finesse—plays beautifully with their tangy, tomato-forward sauce and golden cheese blanket. It’s like your favorite backyard burger met a New York slice and they fell in love in a brick oven. Every bite is nostalgic and comforting, but with enough oomph to make it unforgettable.

The All Meat Pizza – A Carnivore’s Crown Jewel Five meats. One mission: dominate your cravings. Pepperoni with a perfect curl-and-crisp. Sausage that’s spicy and bold. Real bacon that crackles with smoky flavor. And then comes Canadian bacon and ground beef to round it out. It’s meaty, it’s hearty, and somehow, miraculously, not greasy. This isn’t just a meat lover’s pizza—it’s a meat lover’s parade with flavor floats crashing into your soul. Grab a napkin and hold on tight.

Vibe Check – Chill, Classic, and So San Antonio No pretentious nonsense here—just red-checkered booths, the hum of a kitchen that knows its craft, and staff that treat you like family (the kind that knows your order by heart). It’s the perfect pitstop for a solo lunch, a late-night fix, or a feast with friends after a night downtown.

🔥 Final Slice: 5/5 Stars. No Debate. Pizza Classics isn’t just a pizza place—it’s a rite of passage for anyone serious about their slices. Come hungry....

Extreme let down! I’m giving 1 Star because I cannot give ZERO Stars!

My friends bragged about this place! Honestly, worst experience ever. Will never go back!

The lady that took our order hung up without asking for a name. We get there and I’m super excited because it’s packed! I’m thinking great pizza!!

Upon looking around, I see a mass of customers sitting around the door entrance. I see waitresses hanging out with them and playing on their phones. NONE WERE WEARING A MASK!

We called to advise we were there for our order and told we could come in and get it because the restaurant was open. We asked if they would bring it to our vehicle, they advised no. Again, we had to come in to get our order. When we asked if our order was ready, we were advised no order existed.

We gave 2 possible numbers that they insisted they could not find on their caller ID. We gave a description of the order and were told it did not exist. We were advised we could come in and re-order and once again were hung up on.

Meanwhile, we are watching people call from their car and their orders being brought right out to them. Also, keep in mind they have laminated sheets with their phone number taped to the parking poles for you to call and have your order brought out to you.

We decide to go in due to each phone conversation already being rude; maybe they’ll be nicer in person?(We hope and think.) Wrong!

We go in and show a call log of the 5 minute call to place the original order and they decided to look for the order again. Asking they, please, double check for the order. They find it under someone else’s name eventually. There was no apology made, no attempt to rectify the wrong information and rude treatment. Left a very displeased impression of the place that was spoke of so highly.

To top it off, my daughter ended up getting sick immediately after eating the pizza; Diarrhea and vomiting. She was the only one that ate the pepperoni pizza. The other pizza was good, but definitely NOT THE BEST we’ve ever had. I will proceed with NOT RECOMMENDING this business to...

This is a difficult review to give. The pizza’s we bought was outstanding! The atmosphere was joyous. It was busy! Then came the negative experience. I was in line for about 10 minutes or so waiting patiently I moved over the register to waiting to give the details of my online pick up. The gentleman looked over at me and said,” are you next? Where you just in that line?, which turned out to be a very long line? I said yes I was. He looked at me like he didn’t believe me, then he said, what can I do for you, I told him that I was here to pick up my pizza order. he said online or call in? I said phone I believe my wife made the order. I then Preceded to showed him the text that My wife sent me and he said this is an online order. I asked if it was online or by phone. I said I’m sorry I just can’t hear you because it very loud in here plus and your voice is muffled behind the plexi glass. He slightly rolled his eyes and he went to get my pizza. In a not so pleasant voice. He says is there anything else that I can do for you and I said no thank you have a good evening he said bye. As a business owner if you have a very good product that you’re offering a customer you’re going to be successful but when give subpar customer service their product becomes tainted the experience doesn’t become enjoyable anymore. once you get home because as always it’s the first impression that’ last. It’s the first impression that sets the experience. It’s the first impression that give the wow to your product. I will be back because I love your pizza it’s close to home and the people are friendly. I understand. That sometimes we get a little overwhelmed, but we have to remember why we do what we do. You will never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Again I love classic pizza. It’s awesome it’s fabulous. Everyone should...

Amazing taste, at a high price. We tried the vegan pizzas for dinner and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza. We had two large pizzas, both with vegan cheese, one with vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage and mushroom, and the other with vegan chicken and mushrooms. The crust was phenomenal, light and airy, with the right amount of crunch. The dough was fluffy and overall tasted phenomenal. The pizza sauce was pretty great, with tons of flavor, not just regular tomato sauce. Per the vegan toppings, the pepperoni and sauce were great, but the chicken was lacking. The pepperoni and sausage added tons of flavor, and gave the pizza a meat lovers taste which I loved. The chicken on the other hand was dry and not flavored well, so I would recommend skipping on it, especially for the price. Lastly for the good, the vegan ranch was awesome. Very smooth and rich flavor. Different than real ranch, but in my opinion much better. Now for the reason I docked a star, the price. Almost $50 dollars for a large pizza and 2 fountain drinks. I must state here that they had a BOGO offer for the pizzas, but still $50 dollars for a single pizza and drinks is a bit over the top. This is because the vegan cheese is +$4 and the vegan proteins are +$3.5. A lot more expensive than their normal options. It’s sad that having a vegan option comes at such a premium. Overall very good pizza, and one of the few spots with amazing vegan options, but the price can be off putting.

Now this is some REAL pizza 🍕! Everything about this place is amazing; from the aesthetic to the food, everything is impeccably well done! Food: 10/10 This is probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve been to Chicago eating REAL Chicago style pizza before. The dough, sauce, and even toppings are super fresh and delectable in every way! Affordability: 8.5/10 Kind of pricey but it’s definitely worth every penny out here! Service: 10/10 The service was super damn good! The cashier girl at the front helped us and was super friendly and nice, she even gave us a scoop on the deals and was super patient with us as we ordered (I came in with a huge party). The guy who brought out our pizzas to us was also super cool, he cracked some jokes, preemptively brought us boxes and was pretty much another one of the homies. I love the service out here! Atmosphere: 10/10 Something about the aesthetic was just “classic” feeling, like I was at an old antique pizza diner! I love it, the decor and all! Very clean too!!! TLDR: A freaking antique, but amazing pizza place, it’s a must try for any pizza lovers who want some great food, with super chill workers!
