The days of Troy and Kitty and others are gone. We live about 3 miles away I guess. Used to come here more often. But it’s just not the same. We always sit at the bar. Last experience. there was a young lady behind the bar. I will refer to as Gen Z. No warm welcome. Just kind of going through this motions. A woman working in the kitchen came out with a big old smile and said hello. Another woman who seems to be the manager was somewhat pleasant and smiled. However, the bartender just fell flat. There used to be a lot of personality there. And overall warmth. Where you felt appreciated. When our tab came and I pulled out a credit card. She didn’t say thank you, have a nice day or anything to the effect. She just said you can tap your card right there. My wife was like this is how Gen Z are. Very little emotion or warmth. Because they’ve been raised with phones and screens in front of their face. Should also note I was served a warm beer. When I mentioned it she had said yeah I might have to check the keg because. Another person just sent one back a few minutes ago. So my thought was well why did you serve it again? She should’ve said I’m sorry. Can I get you something else instead? A time before this, we had the so-called musician. That is so absorbed with himself and apparently gives off a vibe like he’s the shit. Which is laughable. He’s also in that same age range. I’m guessing. Anyway, I feel for Phil. I’ve owned a few restaurants in the past. Dealing with the generational changes is not for the lighthearted. It could be entertaining for sure. But it also can be very frustrating. Great food. Great decor. Just gotta get a great staff in there again. Honestly, I would put that woman from the kitchen behind the bar instead of the current bartender. If she doesn’t wanna communicate with the public, put her in...
Read moreI’ve been here many times and the food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Last night I went with my friend and the service was very bad. Our waitress (Amanda) kept forgetting about us, forgot to put our order in, the dessert (chocolate mousse with strawberry) tasted so gross and it’s such a small amount of food for 4.50. Amanda kept ignoring us for long periods of time at a time and her excuse was “busy restaurant”. I’ve been a server at Chuy’s which is way bigger than this place. My friend served at the 2nd largest restaurant in Texas (the gristmill), we get busy nights and this wasn’t a busy night. When I ask for a manager to complain to, our server goes “that’s me.”. So now I have to go through the awkward business of telling her she gave less than stellar service (which is not the norm here.) First of all, when a customer is talking, you don’t eye roll, get sassy, and try to make us feel bad about complaining. I wouldn’t be complaining if there wasn’t a reason (because I’ve been a server so I know how this business goes) so I expect to be listened to. She then addresses me as “babe”. I’m sorry, but that’s inappropriate and it made me very uncomfortable. Just all around very uncomfortable which makes me very sad because I enjoyed going there. You should have more than one manager on the floor, so that if a customer complains, they don’t have to talk to their unattentive and dismissive server (why is a manager serving, anyway?). I also complained on the Facebook page in the hopes the issue would be addressed- but the “manager” who served us was petty enough to “like” my review. Bombay Bicycle Club, do better. Don’t hire petty people who are going to ruin a place your customers love by being petty...
Read moreFirst, the food was great! The person cooking the food was very observant. He noticed that my cousin ordered the impossible burger and put the bacon on the side just in case she had dietary needs. Which she does.
When we first came, we waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. I watched two waitresses sit behind the cash register eat and then the one who was serving us, Maddie, walked around talking to everyone else but us. She FINALLY brought us waters about 20 minutes in.
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger all the way, extra mayo no mustard with ranch on the side. My cousin ordered the impossible burger with extra mayo. We received no mayo at all, I received no bacon, no ranch, not all the way. This is not a big deal. 10 minutes later another guy helped us with our order. Our waitress had gone outside! She acted irritated with US that our orders were wrong.
The guy who ended up helping assist us was cleaning the counter with a rag and just reached into the trash with no gloves to grab a fork out the trash. He used that SAME hand to get our to-go plates. I saw the same rags being used to pick things off the ground and then sit them on the counters near the food! At the end, I was charged for some of the condiments I never received, my cousin was charged extra for something she never received, and the guy who was helping us acted like "oh well" when we wanted the tickets corrected. No. We want to pay for what we ordered and received.
We are from out of town and the experience there made us feel ignored and slighted. The waitresses barely made eye contact with us and then at the end was rushing us to leave. There were other people who had gotten there before us that were there...
