We love stonewerks normally and this review is not to judge the food as it would have been great as always I am sure. But we will never come back to this location again until they get new management or proper training on how to handle guest and situations that occur in their establishment. As we are waiting on our food there is an elderly couple having dinner together to the left of us. No one else was sitting on that side of the resturants. Shortly later a mom and daughter walk in to their table with a child about 2 to 3 years old. You then hear loud noise so I turn to see what the screaming is about and the mother of the young child is screaming and cussing at the older couple if they have a starring problem, giving them the middle finger, cussing them out and treating the older lady who never said a word even after all of that but turned to and said what did I do with confusion in her eyes. I went to get up and my husband told me to sit down so things wouldn't escalate further and call for the manager. Remind you servers and staff are watching this and not doing anything or saying anything. So our server comes from the back and we tell her and want to speak to a manager. She just replies with i miss everything good laughed and we didn't see her again for a while. We called another server over to get us a togo box because we were so upset for the older couple and that they allowed the other table to stay and just ignore the hostile environment. We finally got a manager after we paid (husband didn't even drink his drink) manager stated they aren't allowed to say anything or do anything unless the lady put her hands on them. I stated you wait until then to do anything installed of deesculating it before hand and we as paying customers have to endure this environment and so does the poor couple just trying to have dinner. He said that is what they have to do and are trained to do. I told him no one even checked on the older couple and since he didn't have any to do that I would do it for him. Walked over to the couple and apologized for them having to endure this steadly and for no one doing anything and to have a blessed night we were not going to stay here any longer and spend our money at an establishment that allows this. She replied thank you I don't understand what I did or what we are doing we just came to have a nice dinner. Any place has the right to refuse service to anyone especially someone threatening the elderly and making a show in front of young children but truth is you can tell this manager on duty didn't want a confrontation with this irrate woman and because he was to afraid he allowed the elder woman to take the abuse. Also to their male server who stated he saw and heard and just stood there and watched because he didn't know what to do, looks like a lot of training is needed because management should have been able to handle it. This was lastnight around...

Well, gather ‘round, because I simply must tell you about a rather delightful find I stumbled upon – the Stone Werks Big Rock Grille, nestled in that bustling area they call The Rim. One needs sustenance after a bit of flânerie, wouldn't you agree? And let me tell you, this place hit the spot like a perfectly timed soufflé!
From the moment I swept through the door, I could tell they took things seriously, but not too seriously, you know? None of that dreadful starched-collar stiffness. The place felt lively, welcoming, and blessedly clean. A clean restaurant is like a clean kitchen – it just gives one confidence! It felt sturdy, dependable, like a good cast iron skillet. You could settle in for a proper chat and a good bite without feeling rushed.
Now, onto the main event – the food! Never one to shy away from a good vegetable, I decided to try their Brussels sprouts. And oh, my darlings, these weren't your grandmother's boiled-into-submission sprouts, heavens no! These little emerald gems were inspired. Roasted to perfection, I suspect, with that lovely crispy char on the outside giving way to a tender heart. Perhaps a touch of balsamic? Maybe some bacon bits dancing attendance? Whatever magic they worked, it was simply excellent. A humble vegetable, elevated! It proves my point entirely – with a little courage and the right technique, anything can be delicious!
And because one cannot live on sprouts alone (though these might tempt me!), we also partook in the classic Chips and Guacamole. A simple dish, yes, but so easily botched! Thankfully, Stone Werks understands the fundamentals. The guacamole was fresh, vibrant green, with just the right chunky texture – you could tell it hadn't been languishing in the fridge. And the chips! Sturdy, crisp, and just salty enough to be the perfect vehicle for that glorious guac. No flimsy, greasy disappointments here. It was straightforward, honest, and utterly satisfying. Magnifique!
What truly tied the whole lovely experience together, like a good sauce nappé-ing a piece of fish, was the service. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being intrusive – just wonderful! Our glasses were never empty, smiles were genuine, and everything ran with a cheerful efficiency that is always such a relief. It makes all the difference, doesn't it? When the people looking after you seem genuinely happy to do so?
So, my Foodie Friends, if you find yourselves near The Rim with a rumbling tummy, do pop into Stone Werks Big Rock Grille. For a delightful bite, a pleasant atmosphere, and service that makes you feel right at home, it’s a definite winner in my book. Go on, be brave, try...
Read moreFood is too expensive for such low quality! We went on a Thursday night just for a casual dinner. When or waiter came he was kinda cold, not very talkative, but that's okay. We ordered our drinks and our appetizer, then when we got the appetizer we ordered our meals. First the chips was simple chips and queso, if you can call it that. It's no more than akin to Velveeta cheese and Rotel. If you like that, that's okay, but for $8.99, that's ridiculous. I ordered the signature Kobe meatloaf, my wife the shrimp tacos, and my son a bacon cheeseburger. He enjoyed his burger, but my wife said the shrimp in her tacos had no flavor. My signature Kobe meatloaf was worse! The texture was very mealy, like it had been mixed in a blender on high. The flavor was lacking, like they ran out of seasoning. Then it was only topped with plain ketchup. Not even a special sauce or caramelized on top! I also had mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. I usually love Brussels, but roasted these were not! It was a cheap hash that was mushy and had little flavor. Either it was boiled in s bag, or worse, microwaved. I feel like that probably came from like Sam's Club. Sadly the mashed potatoes were the best thing on my plate. Now you may be asking why didn't I bring this up to our waiter or ask for a manager? Because after we gave him our order, we only saw him 2 more times briefly. Once immediately after our food came before we could even try it, and again after we finished choking back the food to give us my card back. He was very impersonal, barely spoke and when he dropped off the check reached around my shoulder to drop it on the table and quickly hurried away from us. We had enough, and no, we didn't leave a tip. One more thing, if you like ginger ale like I do, don't order it from here. They do have Canada Dry, which is my favorite, but they don't tell you they have to get it from the bar and they only give you a tiny 8oz bottle that costs $2 EACH, and no refills. We didn't realize the price until the check did come. The atmosphere there is nice, but loud. But that's what you're paying for there, not the food, that's for sure. We have no intention...
