Subway — Restaurant in San Antonio

Beware of employees not washing their hands after handling money at register. I just witnessed an employee Counting the money at the register and immediately after she attempted to go straight into handling food. The customer in front of me noticed and asked her to wash her hands. The employee was bothered by the request and responded with “I’m wearing gloves.” I get that she is trying to hurry and get us out of the door with our food but I doubt a single person in line would be upset over waiting an extra 2 minutes so she could wash her hands. Not only that she totally had an attitude and we all had to chime in, in order for her to consider the request and go wash her hands. Being that we were all next and wanted clean hands on our food as well, we had to step in and agree with the customer request. Makes me wonder if they wash their hands when they prep the food?! Such a simple request should be addressed by their employees with respect and pleasure to serve. They really need a refresher on customer service and food prep training. If I was the owner/manager I would cringe at this review, especially being that is it a food establishment. I also doubt the specific employee would want someone making her food with money hands. I am giving two starts because I have had pleasant interactions with other employees and I don’t want to take away from their service...

Apparently subway got rid of Swiss cheese and is getting rid of other popular items too. I will try other sandwich places before going back to subway. The quality and stuff they have to put on a sandwich has gone down. Plus an employee always parks in the front parking spots, every time I go it’s the same white Mitsubishi parked in the first two parking spots and no other customer is inside. I think that looks very bad on subway that an employee would rather park in the front than care about customers getting front row parking spots. That’s just my opinion though. I was always taught that the customers come first and I don’t feel this way at this subway location. Every time I was in the employees walk out from the back & do no wash their hands and they don’t greet you, rather they just stare at you until you start ordering. The manager at this store was soo helpful when I was in a bind. He reminds me of how people are supposed to treat each other not because they have to, but because they have a kind heart. I lost the receipt, but his name started with an A. I had accidentally ordered online to the wrong store and this was the second Subway I had visited to see if they could help. The Subway I was meant to pick up the order from told me there was nothing they could do and suggested buying the sandwiches from another store, find another store who was willing to help, and they told me they could not void the order, so I was essentially just out of luck. I understand their perspective, but I had to get back to a training and I was short on time. Their unwillingness to help was so discouraging and stark reminder of how uncompassionate people can be.
