Unfortunately due to petty people, I was cut off after two drinks. Which normally isn’t a big deal (I showed no signs of being intoxicated) but their reasonings were ridiculous. The first being “you have too many drinks on your tab” yes multiple people in our party are drinking and they wouldn’t separate the tab?? Secondly when I asked again to the manager her reasoning was “all of us bartenders have been watching you and we can tell you’ve had too much”.. So I understand policy, my sister is a server/bartender and I wasn’t gonna argue cause I think they wanted that to happen. On top of all this they rang up the food/drinks on the wrong card, prices went up on the tabs.. like it was just crazy how they conduct business. Then had their “regulars” start talking crap to my 7 year old as he was getting water they also kept turning their backs and staring at our table. (Every time one of us looked up someone was staring at us) Continued talking bad about me to people who we didn’t know, who CAME to our table to let us know what they were saying. Also as my sister went to order more drinks they were talking about me to her!! The “regulars” and bartenders continuously cackling anytime I got up for water. Served both my mom and sister 7-8 drinks EACH. We stopped going there for years cause their food had gone down.. which that was the best part of the night! So props to the cooks, the food was amazing! But the second shift staff was just really catty and horrible and very distasteful people. Lastly.. I think I went to high school with one of the girls and that’s how this got started. Graduated over 10 years ago.. but I guess people can hold on to grudges for that long. Feel so sorry for her. We will not...
Read moreThe Pigpen is a great little bar behind the Smoke Shack (one of my faves). It calls itself a "neighborhood bar" and the atmosphere suggests just that. When you walk in, there is a bar and a few picnic tables in front of a stage. Make your way to the back, and you'll find the outdoor bar, more tables, play area, and the food truck. The several times I've been, there has been a wide range of people from families enjoying time off after work to a high school basketball team celebrating the end of their season. You really do feel like you're in someone's backyard when you step into the Pigpen.
The food is served from a food truck but it's not your typical food truck experience. You can order from the bar and someone will bring the food out to you. Thank god because I typically hate the awkward waiting to hear someone holler out your name/order. The pretzel is soft and warm and comes with 3 different dipping sauces. We also ordered wings, which were great!
What enticed me to go back to the Pigpen was the soul food style brunch buffet. As a lover of "all-you-can-eat" anything, this was a perfect option for me. There is a decent variety of meat (brisket, catfish bites, chicken tenders), bread (biscuits and tortillas), and fruits to enjoy. There was also brisket mac n cheese on the buffet line.
I'm giving this a 4-star review because I'd like to go back and try more drinks and food from the food truck before I commit to a solid 5. Can't wait to give it...
Read moreJen, the manager is cool, but doesn’t know how to manage her employees. Great place, great food. Don’t recommend anyone coming here unless you’re prepared to be charged up by bartenders and management does nothing but be embarrassed. The bartenders own the manager. Sad establishment. Could be better. Could be managed better. The staff runs the manager. Who can respect that? I would definitely want to work there if I had zero integrity and had no problem bossing my boss. The manager Jen, was embarrassed of her employee, yet still couldn’t boss up. The customer is always right, especially in this industry. Jen and her staff will always fail. Plus, NOTHING ON THE MENU IS AVAILABLE. Don’t go for the food like me, you won’t get the food on the menu, and you’ll be treated like trash. Matches the staff accordingly…
UPDATE: Annalisa is so SOO unprofessional she called my friends WORKPLACE just to ask him to remove my review. This place and management needs to join the circus. WHO CALLS SOMEONES WORKPLACE ASKING FOR SOMEONE TO REMOVE A REVIEW?! Unprofessional. More than that. It’s just distasteful…. ALSO… she added that the bartender in the wrong will be fired soon bc I’m not he only one that has had bad service with her. Apparently it’s just a thing to hold bartenders that can’t be professional and annalisa and Jen and probably why. Shouldn’t they be examples? ABSOLUTELY 🤡’s.
DO NOT CALL...
