I was a regular here for about a year, coming in about once a week. I would always order one of the wraps substituted with the plant based chicken. For about the past two months that I’ve come in they have been out of the plant based chicken. They did offer the hummus wrap instead but I am not a fan of it so I would just go to Panera next door. Each week I’d still stop here first just to see if they had the plant based chicken but they were always out. Last week, I finally asked the cashier if it was discontinued because they have been out for months but the item is still on the menu. I think she was the manager because she said that she keeps forgetting to order it but it’s available at other locations. The only reason why I would go so often is because my school is around the corner and it was a quick place to stop by during my lunch break. The next nearest location is 15 minutes away (and my lunch break is only 30 minutes long). This week I decided to try one last time, but they still didn’t have it. If an item is on the menu then I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be available without any other excuse than forgetting to order it for weeks, especially when a customer is coming in weekly asking for it. At this point they might as well take it off the menu for...
Read moreCame into this location for the first time over the weekend and Laya was AMAZING! Greeted us like we were walking into a tías home! She helped us choose our meal and everything was on point. She informed us about different perks Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers and the health benefits of multiple drinks they make. As well as this one new customer who came in and looked very skeptical about her smoothie because of how green it was, Laya assured her she would love it if she just gave it a chance. She waited for the customer to take a drink, and when she did the customer said “oh wow, that’s very good” in which Laya replied “that’s what I love to hear” with the biggest smile on her face which put a smile on our faces as well. I usually go to the one off Potranco and 151, and although it’s a good location, this one on Medical is by far more welcoming and informative. Like I said Laya gave off “that one favorite Tía” vibe lol she even said “we make our food with love because if we didn’t, the food wouldn’t taste as good” which is so true! I hope she gets to run her own location one day because you can tell she really loves putting a smile on customers faces and takes pride in what she serves. Thank you so much...
Read moreI’ve been to several tropical smoothies in the San Antonio, TX area and have yet to have a great experience, but this one was horrible enough to write a review. I ordered a sunrise sunset smoothie and the chipotle chicken club. Before I left the establishment, I went to the counter to ask for napkins since the lady who placed my order in the to go area didn’t even bother. There was a couple ordering ahead of me and the employee looked so disinterested in taking their order so I left as to not deal with either of them.
The smoothie tasted like unsweetened applesauce. I did not taste any of the ingredients that were supposedly in it. I had my partner taste it as well and he agreed it was very off along with his smoothie. By the time I got home the smoothie was completely brown. Because of this, I didn’t even attempt to eat the club.
I don’t know if this location is using expired products or not, but whatever that employee did was not right and should not have been sold to any customer. Also, they could use some customer service training.
Edit: I attempted to leave a review with corporate as well. However, unless you give them your full address, you can’t submit it. An email address...
