As an actual student here, it's a waste of time, don't. I feel like I'm in too deep and wish I had chosen a different school. The tuition was cheaper than other schools, but it's going up drastically. Not to mention all the expenses they don't tell you about until you're already in, spent 4k or more on materials just to attend. They charge computer fees but you have to provide yourself the computer and needed software. You can buy one through their campus store with a payment plan, but you only get like a month to pay it off, so it's not really a payment plan. The program is a messy disorganized mess, and the staff get surprised with us. There's not enough staff to teach, classrooms (I sit on the floor a lot), nor parking spots. You have to pay for parking and yet there's hardly ever parking (not to mention the staff is rude there and will tell everyone different things). Some of my friends have failed, and I feel like their experience has been so heartless. We're just numbers here. They stress taking care of our mental health, but they're the reason it's declining. I love being able to help my patients and learn the material (despite all the academic pain). The other students are so nice, and the community the cohorts bulid are so welcoming. But I'm slowly losing why I wanted to be in nursing school. Edit: We also just found out that we've been added into a research study without our consent and awareness. We can't opt out. It's mandatory. It does nothing for our GPA and everything to make nursing school harder, as you have to coordinate separate dates on top of our regular classes. You can't talk badly about it either cause they're people (who forced us into their research), but...
Read moreIf you want the opinion of someone who's actually been a student at the undergrad program here: I've attended colleges in other cities in Texas, none are as disorganized as this one. Our pass rates compared to Galen, Hallmark, and UIW for the NCLEX were worse this year. If you fail a class, you get kicked out of your cohort and are only able to repeat that specific class the following semester. They do not explain much, and you'll understand if you ever are unfortunate enough to choose this school and sit through orientation. Our class times weren't given to us until the week of school began, our professors weren't shown on our student center, and advisors are on a totally different page than the professors. Professors tell stories rather than teach. I regret choosing this school. Name value, if UT Health can claim they have that, doesn't equate to a great education. The Alamo Colleges are more organized than...
Read moreIt's a state of art facility. When you enter the lobby last thing come to your mind it's to be in a hospital. It's like opened yesterday. Clean and spotless. Has a great cafeteria if you want a coffee or a quick bite. Went there for the Covid vaccine, the process is so smooth and fast. Really friendly people working there and they care about you. I used the UT San Antonio before, school of dentistry, same thing, great care for you. I'm really proud to have UT...
