This review is absolutely overdue. I would give them 1000 stars if it were an option. I cannot say enough about our wonderful experience with Devil's Canyon. My fiance and I held our engagement party at Devil's Canyon during the end of August 2019. We knew that Devil's Canyon would be an amazing place to host this based on many positive experiences with Food Truck Friday and shows played by my fiance and our friends. However, the team well exceeded our expectations throughout the entirety of our interactions.
Michelle, the in house Director of Events, was so approachable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Throughout the experience, we felt confident in her ability to create a one of a kind event. Michelle provided many options and walked through each detail with us, offering drink tickets or cash bar. She is also a creative powerhouse! She and her event coordinators offered amazing feedback throughout the planning process. The entire staff was phenomenal and helpful. I tend to overwhelm myself and stress out, but they made the entire process easy. The team was helpful and accommodating by helping us figure out the best layout and setting up for us. On the day of the event, there were multiple people available to assist us with getting things organized.
We were able to rent the side patio for our event during a Friday evening. For a group of about 65 people throughout the night, it was the perfect size. We decided to do it on a Friday evening as there were food trucks available, live music, and a lively ambiance. We ultimately decided to have an outside catering through a friend of ours and set up a taco bar in our area, though it didn't stop us from consuming some of the delicious food from the trucks. Despite the venue being open to public, it felt very cozy and private in our nook.
Not only were the staff exceptionally helpful, many came to stopped by to say hello. By the time event day, it felt that everyone we had organized with shared in our excitement and it showed. I wish we could relive our engagement party every day, because it was truly an amazing and memorable experience. I doubt we would have had nearly as perfect of an event if we had gone ANYWHERE else. Devil's Canyon should absolutely be your first choice for hosting an event anywhere. We're even considering having our reception here in...
Read moreMy fiance (now wife!) and I got married in October of this year. We had an intimate ceremony at SF City Hall and were in need of a chill, laid-back venue to host our reception at. We're both huge beer lovers and naturally, breweries were among our top choice of places we wanted to host our gathering at.
We visited quite a few different breweries and ended up booking our reception with Devil's Canyon Brewing Company. These guys specialize in private events (they're actually only open one day of the week to the public, the other days are all for private events) and it shows. Orestes, Agathe, and the rest of the team at Devil's Canyon were highly professional, accommodating, and friendly, and made our big day extra special.
Our guests raved about the venue, specifically how intimate it felt given our headcount of about 50 guests. We rented our the barrel room which gave our event a private feel despite the rest of the brewery being open to the public, and we even got to use their AV to play a slideshow and our own music. The brews were fantastic and the food trucks on-site were a hit, giving our guests tons of options and generous portion sizes.
Overall, we are extremely happy with how our big day turned out and can't thank the folks at Devil's Canyon enough for being a part of it. Thank you again to Orestes, Agathe, and the rest of the team, and we hope to...
Read moreThis is about their parking lot and the incredibly selfish parking situation on behalf of their Brewery. -
I don’t care if they serve the BEST hand imported Beer from the Bavarian Mountains of Germany in gold glasses that you get to take home… I would simply never come here because of their horrible community impact and awful history in San Carlos and the (empty) parking lot they took over from 24 hr fitness gym.
The 24 Hour fitness in San Carlos used to be my favorite gym in the Bay Area. Mostly because it had easy parking and was super convenient. That all changed when Devils Canyon Brewery opened. Now - you can’t find parking anywhere! And it’s all thanks to Devils Canyon Brewery having an empty parking lot that no one can park in now.
These pictures were taken on a Saturday morning around 10am (Says that the Brewery is closed Saturdays/Sundays?) when the Gym was packed. I couldn’t find parking anywhere and had to park 3 blocks away on a sketchy side street. It’s just mind boggling to me that this Brewery won’t share this space with Gym goers and would rather have a completely empty parking lot instead.
If you want to get 4 Beers and get super drunk and then drive home and endanger the entire San Carlos community/possibly get a DUI- Sure! But if you want to go to the neighborhood gym and try to better your life?...
