Once a upon a time this place was owned my a pair of sisters and the food was just off the hook! They were the sweetest people and always keep the food fresh and the portions big!
Sadly now it's a husband and wife team and it's horrid. For 2 years I've been trying it on and off and it's been sub par every time. Honestly I don't know why I kept going back except it's one of the few places that makes mousakka with rice instead of in a casserole.
Today after 8 hours at school tired and hungry I beg my husband if we can grab some take out for me on the way home. I call in my ordered and get hung up on the first time. The second time my order is taken.
my meal tonight was the deal breaker and I shall never go back. I always order mousakka. The rice was stale and slightly crunchy. There was almost no vegetables on it and I had to pick through it to find the meat. Also the egplant on the top was almost raw it was not grilled like it usually is, and there was no tomato sauce on it! The vegetables were not cooked all the way and were raw
I also ordered the cucumber yogurt which on the menu comes with pita bread. They refused to give me 2 slices of pita for my yogurt. Lame!! Also I ordered a baklvah and it was stale. The flilo dough was soft and yucky. No flakey, sticky goodness here like it should be. I threw it in the trash.
Also the tahini is so watered down and has no flavor!! Last time we got flafel and it was all breading and they burnt it!!! I mean are you serious?
Also the kebba had such a thick breading around it, that it...
Read moreMarch 2023 Update: Today i met my friends on punch at this place. The food was much better than the last time i visited 4-5 years back. The hummus was smooth, the felafel tasted great. It was fresh and not hard but moist inside. Loved that feeling and taste. Had ordered for a Kabob combo. The size of the kababs in skewer were very small for both the chicken and lamb. The kofta one was fine. All of them tasted great. The salad that it came with was not very well seasoned and tasted somewhat flat. The rice was a yellow one. The lemonade tasted very good though and refreshing .
2018 review I have been here a number of time for lunch. Finding a parking here when you arrive is a problem. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating arrangements. Food is OK. Last time I had ordered for Shwarma plate. It tasted OK initially but later came across some strips of chicken which were bitter and burnt. The staff are OK. I have noticed that the lady working there is at times rude. The old guy over there is grumpy. The young guy at the counter who takes the order(and serves as well) is always less attentive to the customers. Every time I have visited, he will bring us water without asking our preference, although we had asked the actual server to get us water. That is kind of weird, experiencing the same all the 3 - 4 times. I only go down here for lunch, only if the other 3-4 lunch options (in the area)...
Read moreOne star for attitude and one because this place has a good menu and food tastes good, but the owner's super hot temper who lacks on manners will take a tool on you. After taking a seat outside in a rainy day, being attended by my service dog, I was told to move to the last table of the empty terrace bc customers don't like dogs. After moving to the last table I tried to explain that I am attended by a service animal and I should not be marginalized just bc I have my dog with me. He started raising his voice telling me that if my dog is a service animal, should wear a vest, which is actually not required by law in order not to attract attention upon having a disability. He left inside yelling at me that he loves dogs and if I don't like his rules I shall leave. Unfortunately you will not find great customer service, but a pushy attitude and condescending remarks at time. Will not recommend this place if you are attended...
