Guichos Eatery — Restaurant in San Clemente

Might be one of the best local eateries nearby. The other option is to head deeper into the main town... But for what it's worth, this place primarily specializes in pickup orders. If you're not familiar with San Clemente, you'll easily see why. I have friends who swear by this place and I understand there ideas. I'm just not entirely convinced that price wise, your getting what you paid for for.

I usually get the ARUGULA SALAD: arugula, shaved fennel, shaved parmigiano cheese, lemon dressing $7.95, let's call it $8

and either: JUMBO RICOTTA CHEESE RAVIOLI jumbo ricotta stuffed ravioli, porcini & button mushrooms, light cream, sherry wine, garlic $9.95, let's call it $10 or PENNE w/ EGGPLANT eggplant, marinara sauce, white onions, mozzarella cheese 9.50, let's call it $10 or TORTELLINI spinach tortellini stuffed w/ cheese, prosciutto ham, mushrooms, peas, tomato cream sauce 9.95, let's call it $10

Of these 3 items, I almost always get the Tortellini. It's pretty darn good!

Oh yeah... One other thing: THIS PLACE IS PACKED WITH PICKUP ORDERS. Phones ringing constantly, people rushing in and out. The staff is always busy whenever I've been there. Don't make the mistake of judging the staff as horrible or anything like that. I wouldn't want to work there 5-6 days a week with that type of constant 'busyness'. Don't get me wrong: It's good for 'business' but not for 'busyness'! Just smile and sincerely thank them for their service. That type of stuff really...

Waiters were decent what really got me was they seemed a little more occupied hooking up what looked like their freinds first before the customers that were waiting for a while not to mention they got some nice bottled water and I got tap water after I placed my order I waited for 30 minutes or so I finally asked her what the status looked like on it , turns out it has been sitting on the counter for the last 20 minutes then she had the audacity to tell me it was still warm wont be coming back and I'll spread the word , to busy hooking up your homies and your going to lose a lot of customers which I did see a lot of walk out due to lack of...

We were really surprised. We used to eat here all the time and would easily give it a 4.8 Stars from past experiences. Creamy Alfredo, a lot of seafood, delicious really.....

This time was very different. The shrimp Alfredo had three shrimp, I know specifically because myself and two kids each got one. The Alfredo sauce was dried up and Pasty. The farfalle was watery and had no flavor, and the meat it came with was dried out. My 7 year old daughter LOVES fettuccine alfredo and she wouldn't eat it. What happened to...
