Embarking on a quest to rank San Diego’s California Burritos! I’m testing California Burritos at my 18th spot in San Diego. Today, it’s Al Chile.
The Product: It’s super filling, but hands down the worst meat in town. They made me a big, hearty burrito. It’s the first time I’ve seen a California Burrito with rice and beans, which definitely makes it extra filling. The veggies are fresh and tasty, but the meat is awful—tough, full of gristle, and really chewy. You have to work your jaw to get through it. The sauces are homemade, spicy, and flavorful. Price: $16, which is way above the city’s average. Rating: 05 out of 10
