Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in San Diego

So I joined their rewards program, got an email for a free appetizer as long as I spend $15. Went in to restaurant and showed the server the coupon. He came back with receipt paper and had me write down the code from the email. We ordered our food, started eating , then the server comes back and says that we need to spend $50 to get the free appetizer and that we haven’t met the limit (we both ordered the new $10 burger meal). We politely showed him the email, he read it then agreed it said $15. We continue eating. Then a manager comes by to explain that the code does not seem to be working and asks for our email, she verifies the code then walks away. We keep eating . Then a few minutes later a different manager comes by and says that our coupon does not work because we ordered the $10 burger meal which is a discounted meal and because the coupon for the free appetizer only works if you buy a meal that is full price. She comps us anyways but lets us know that the meal we picked was already a “discounted” meal.

The $10 meal is advertised to bring people in, as it did us, did not show a regular price then a new price but rather just the $9.95.

Our meal experience was interrupted 3 times with the feel that we were not honest or something, it was embarrassing. We went out on a limb to come to Applebees because years ago their food quality was not good, so trying this burger deal was an olive branch we were willing to try. Well it started off on the wrong foot bad,the host who sat us told me we couldn't have one of the open booths that was open because he had a couple big parties coming in so he proceeded to seat my wife and I in an area I couldn't watch the baseball game that was on that I wanted to watch while waiting for the food or even watch with my wife while eating. Then the food came out and I had orders the prime rib with ajous.turns out they gave me the French one box bullion soup ajous which was disgusting.while we were waiting for the food the waitress was the only good part,when asked about the game she changed one TV to the game I wanted, after getting our food and having the nasty sauce I ask for the manager, then while waiting I noticed that the three open booths I inquired about sitting at prior had two patrons each.when the manager showed up she tried addressing everything and then I told her about the host.after a few moments the TV with the baseball game she had turned back for another patron and when she came back with our bill I told her that changing the TV back was the final straw that broke the camels back and that I would never come back to that location because of the bad host and the disgusting food,the sad thing is is this was gonna be the last attempt to get good service and food at the location in Mira Mesa because it was not the first or second time I received poor service and bad tasting food.If you like food that taste like it came out of a box or pre-made for hours this location will...

Ordered take out, Kristen didn't know what was available on the 2 for 20 menu. But oh wait she figured it out finally, said order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrive early so i wait the remaining 5 minutes in the car. I should say the restaurant only had about 9 customers so it was slow not busy. Its now been the full 15 minutes and order should be ready. I go inside to pay I am told Amber will be out in a minute. Waiting, waiting, finally go to pay takes them at least 15 minutes to figure out the very simple gift card. Finished paying now its been 30 minutes since i placed the order, food still not ready!!! I have to wait 5 more minutes before Amber bring food. She then sets the food down on the bench in the front where it is so dirty and gross so she could go through the contents of the order. Gross! The burgers was so raw it could have walked off the plate, the bun was soggy the only thing that was somewhat good was the fries, if you look past how the salt shaker cap must have fallen off over the fries. I didn't call to complain what are they going to do refund my gift card so I will be subject to another bad meal!!...
