Crumbl — Restaurant in San Diego

Employees here are mainly young men and women in their college years, or possibly even younger. Most, if not all of them are very nice, polite, and kind. I have only ordered for pick up and have had absolutely no issues. When I walk in,I'm greeted most of the time and always approached by someone who asks my name then goes to get the cookies. They always show them to me before giving them to me and ask if everything looks ok. Cookies are always well baked, and exactly as described with just one or two occasional issues. Those issues are why I knocked off one star.

Issue#1 - some of the cookies are sometimes a lot smaller then their siblings and I believe that's not something that can be fixed. But, they do always at least weigh the same so it's not really an issue for me.

Issue #2 - is where I do believe the employees can improve. During the week the Texas sheet cake was offered and another where I can't remember, the cookies I received were really under glazed/iced. Due to the Texas sheet cake cookie being a tad overbaked dense it ended up being very thick and needed the icing to help make it more palatable.

So for the future hopefully these are things that can be improved on. Otherwise staff here is wonderful and...

I called an order in (prepaid) for a dozen cookies so I could pick it up quickly and get back to my bedridden mom. I arrived after the estimated time that the cookies would be ready for pick up and was the only customer with two employees behind the counter. I waited and didn't get helped until someone else walked in the door. One employee then acknowledged the man who walked in after me and got his order ready first. After she helped him, she worked on my order which was not ready yet. I had to wait another 10 minutes for her to put it in the box and put the icing on. I also ordered a thank you gift wrap (prepaid extra) and all she put on was a rubber band around the box. She was also clumsy and dropped cookies on the counter before putting in the box. At this point, I was annoyed because I needed to get back home quickly. The employees need to be trained on efficiency and customer service. I won't be ordering from them again. There are other good cookie places in Mira Mesa. I will go...

First a phone call and question, answered by a friendly voice on the other end. Then coming in to the shop, for the first time, seeing a clean layout, happy, smiling, working employees in a unique environment screaming something original, customer friendly and at a fair price point...GOOD LUCK TO THIS NEW CHAIN/CONCEPT. Then I was greeted by Juliana, store manager, who answered all my questions and made for a fabulous experience of me purchasing a mix of cookies for employees. She simply could have directed me to the Website but she provided true customer service, a true hospitality professional. In summary, the pick up was great, with her and another manager greeting me, order ready to go in nice carry bags and EVERY EMPLOYEE LOVED EACH AND EVERY COOKIE...an experience in itself.
