egglet — Restaurant in San Diego

I saw their construction a few months ago so I've been a little curious and finally decided to try!

I got their Egglet Deluxe as Combo C with Monster Truffle Hashbrown and a coffee. The food is really good and affordable compared to surrounding areas! The owners are very accommodating and would love to know how the food is to you! It feels like you stepped into a family's kitchen instead of a restaurant/cafe, very warm and homey.

Monster Truffle Hashbrown: Crispy hashbrown pucks with a truffle cheese and topped with parsley(?) and bacon. The truffle is good and not too overwhelming and the hashbrown is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, one of the better hashbrowns I've had in the area.

Egglet Deluxe Sandwich: Damn their eggs are so fluffy and creamy. The toppings are a good combination and their caramelized onions are🤌

Coffee: Not crazy roasted like some franchise cafes, not silty, and really smooth to drink. Better than a certain franchised...

The Baseline: For a breakfast/brunch cafe the food must be hearty/filling/satisfying for the early morning, there must be a mix of sweet and savory to fulfill that brunch/breakfast need, and service must be a welcoming start of your day experience.

Food: Had the double egg and cheese sandwich. Really good preparation of the scrambled egg and the brioche bun was well toasted and the cheese was well melted. Good sandwich.

Service: Order kiosk and the staff prepped the sandwich quickly. Friendly and welcoming to the cafe.

Ambiance: Some indoor seating but it had a big patio. The Tesla Chargers are right outside so this is a great sandwich if you are here for a morning...

We stopped here briefly while traveling through the area and were very happy we did. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. We had the ham and egg sandwich, the bacon and egg sandwich and hash browns. The sandwich bread was thick and the ingredients looked great are cooked where u can see them being prepared. My first bite of the sandwich surprised me because it had a sweet flavor. There is a sweet sauce on it and cabbage. My wife and I agreed the sandwiches were unique and excellent! The hash browns were really good as well. If we lived in the area, we would be back! ...
