San Diego is So Much Fun! A One-Day Travel Guide

We spent part of the day in Old Town at the end of a trip to San Diego and researched out the top Mexican offerings in Old Town. Flor’s was at the top of the list and now we know why! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🔥 It is located in a Food Hall on Twigg Street (photos included to guide you) - walk straight through the Food Hall entrance and it will be on your left. Just to the right of the entrance to his place are two kiosks to order your food. It will guide you through the ordering process. One of us loves spice and the other prefers mild spice. Make sure you check the settings on your dishes for the spice level - and just so you know, the spicy onions are highly spicy, so if you prefer mild, do not choose the onions. (FYI: They were finely chopped and so tasty!!) The owner, Orlando, was working at the counter. What a friendly guy! He told us his story about his family’s labor of love and his use of natural ingredients that make the most authentic dishes! As you can see from the photos, these tacos are double-tortilla tacos (amazing corn flavor) and the ingredients beautifully balanced. We had carne asada and the surf and turf tacos and WOW, an explosion of flavor!! We just stopped talking and focused on every morsel. The meat and shrimp were seasoned perfectly. It was loaded with fresh slaw with a wonderful mild sauce and the spicy onions. If you’re looking for a wonderful meal, stop by Flor’s. And say hi to Orlando for me!

This is the best local, family run, side of the street restaurant I've ever seen in my life. I am a professional reviewer with almost 50 million hits on my reviews.

The food was shockingly good. The service was refreshingly delightful. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. And ordering was a breeze. Ordering was so fast I didn't know what to do with myself. The owner who was behind the counter served me a beverage that I was certain I would not enjoy. However because of this entire environment in the experience up to that point I thought..."maybe I'm wrong." The beverage she said, she makes herself. She then smeared this delicious concoction on the side of the bottle. I drank this grapefruit beverage and then licked the preserves like concoction on the side of the bottle and fell in love. It was delicious!

Then my food came out. My food looked beautiful. It really does mean something if your food is beautiful. One thing that I thought I gave up on was getting pretty food. You can go through my reviews and see I've taken pictures of food compared them to what it looks like on the menu to show people what they're actually getting. It's actually a pet peeve of mine. But this place was amazing!

The food was so good I had to stop about 50 times in savor the flavor in my mouth. I cannot tell you the last time I did that even all of my glaringly beautiful reviews on other restaurants over the past few years I still didn't really stop and savor the flavor in my mouth I still swallowed it and thought it was just really good. But this food was amazing!

I will actively add San Diego on my list of travels just to visit these kind folks.

Walk into the restaurant area in aim toward the left I uploaded a video to help you find this place. If you go here and you don't like the food you message me I...

To cut to the chase - GO HERE. EAT HERE. Fall in love with this place. Don't tell your friends so this doesn't get overcrowded!! Okay, my review... Usually it's a huge turn-off to me when a restaurant uses a digital kiosk to take my order, especially one that requires you to give your personal information (phone number, etc) before you're able to complete an order, but the couple who owns and operates Flor's is so freakin' charming and cool that even that normal pain point in today's changing in-person food experience was kinda fun. Goofy, I still don't totally get why they need it, but fun. Anyway, I am SO GLAD I pushed through, and placed my order. I had two tacos just to try their menu and between the presentation and the taste, I am convinced this is my new go-to in San Diego for tacos, and, I know I can say this even though I haven't tried it all yet, everything on their menu I crave. Everything I ate had such a unique and perfect taste. I was particularly moved by the length at which the owners went to create a little dish for my dog to eat as well. Just love this place and can't...
