Green Light Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in San Diego

After a disappointing 3 hour wait at Lab Corp came to this Quest Diagnostic to do my bloodwork. Was upset by this awful start to the day and $12 parking but the day ended in a smile 😊. The owners especially the gentleman cashing out and taking orders restored my faith in humanity. A kind man and and great tasting reasonably priced food to boot. If anyone has seen the old Black & White Episode of twilight zone about Willoughby, a fantasy dream town where a train ride takes him when he sleeps… this would be it. This Deli transforms you to simpler times and great service! If I’m ever near by I’m sure to stop by again. The .75 chocolate chip cookies 🍪 were delicious it’s no wonder you guys have been around for 27 years as you told me !!! Thanks for existing! Every town needs a place like this. What a surprise! I had the absolute pleasure of eating a great deli sandwich. I'm not a typical deli sandwich person, but wow!!! These sandwiches were absolutely tasty and packed quite a taste profile! I ordered the Grilled Toscana and Grilled Turkey Pesto Provolone, both on sourdough. The bread was grilled to absolute perfection and amazingly warm. Crunch and yet soft! Wow! The olive topanade on the Toscana and sun-dried tomato on the other was definitely a taste combo that left my palate in awe! Guys, if you're in the area and up for a small mom and pop shop deli sandwich, this is definitely the spot to. I work in one of these buildings and I have given this place multiple tries and I get disappointed every time. The fruit is old and $4. Not worth it for old not fresh fruit. The soup is terrible very watered down especially the lobster bisque. We used to have a food truck come by but because of their greed and jealousy they out a stop to it. So our only option is old terrible food. Thank you for that. The staff besides the grumpy old lady are very nice. Her husband is welcoming and the two ladies that prepare the food are sweet and nice.
