Influx Cafe — Restaurant in San Diego

I went a couple of months ago and haven’t been back (sadly, because their sandwiches are my favorite) after an extremely rude experience with an employee. I tried to get in contact with the owner but never got a hold of them so I decided to leave this review. After I ordered my coffee and received the wrong order, I told the barista it wasn’t what I had ordered then the lady at the register looked at me and said “whaaat?? I asked you three times what you wanted!” I then replied telling her that I had also clarified what I wanted a couple of times and asked her to not be rude. The barista was lovely and handled the situation very well and offered to give me back my money but the register, (I never got her name) was so extremely disrespectful, I could not believe it. The food here is fresh and tasty. Great selection, vegan options, friendly and helpful staff who helped me find a WW alternative for one of the bagels I ordered. The put some kind of spice over the cream cheese on the bagels that is also really good. Indoor and outdoor seating, easy to get to, quick service, and several different hot sauce options. Where my visit did fall short was their chai concentrate latte mix. The taste is very distinct and very disappointing when its the choice of coffee shop. Very artificial flavor, fake cinnamon taste, just really not good. There are SO many better chai options with distribution. Other than that, I plan on stopping in again before heading back to OH. The owner must’ve been having the worst day of her life when I showed up, because she decided to unleash her inner drill sergeant on an employee in front of the whole store. The crime? Adding cheese to a bagel. Like, my gal, it’s just cheese. CALM DOWN. I paid for it, all you had to do was melt it on there, not melt down in front of us!
