Was looking for a place to sit and knit while waiting for a class at SD City College. I'm so glad I chose to come into Mio + Tuo. A short 10 minute walk from the college, it was convenient for me to reach the place. Well worth the walk! I was greeted by a soft-spoken young lady with a smile that lit up my morning. She was super sweet and patient while I figured out what I wanted to drink and eat. When I ordered the blueberry-banana bread she said, "it's really good" and yes... y'all, she is right. So so tasty, indeed. I ordered a classic Cafe Mocha with oatmilk. Not only were the amounts of chocolate flavor well proportioned to the amount of espresso shots and milk, but it was made at just the right temperature that I could immediately enjoy this deliciousness! The barista knew what she was doing, for sure. The atmosphere is calming and quiet despite the downtown traffic, coffee making noise, and additional patrons in the place. Its seating options give you plenty of choices to sit and study, read a book, or just people watch. The space is bright and airy, with well placed plants to help bring a warmth to the largeness of the space. The decor is simple, not too flashy. High, exposed ceilings give the place a way of carrying the sounds up, which is probably why it's a comfortable temperature throughout the day. It also helps that the tall buildings help keep some sun out as well. As I sat knitting, I listened and watched the employees greet and help customers... never wavering from being patient, kind, and friendly. Overall, the quality of the food and service, in addition to the chill comfortable space, makes this a 5 out of 5 for me. Definitely recommend for a space to chill, or even a pop in for a great cup of coffee.

Little Owl on 9th has been my go to coffee shop for months now! I have tried other coffee shops around the downtown area such as Starbucks, achilles and the coffee bean however none of them have the variety of coffees, teas and other drinks like little owl on 9th and little owls drinks taste the best, the coffee is amazing. They also just recently updated the sandwich menu and their sandwiches are all amazing! Good prices, great assortment of food and bakery items and a great place to study as well! I highly recommend this place to anyone in the downtown area!

Local coffee shop and neighborhood gem!! The food and drink offerings are always on point, and a bright spot in my workday. I have never been disappointed. Boba is also available to add -- and plenty of alt-milk options! -- and the boba pearls are perfect every time. The owner is lovely and she & the staff are joyful to interact with. I try bringing family, coworkers, and friends as much as I can so they can experience/see this awesome little oasis in Downtown San Diego.

DISGUSTING drinks and even more DISGUSTING service!!!

I went today and paid over $30 for 3 different drinks and when they gave me the drinks I tried the one for myself and it tasted off like rotten eggs and I asked if they had added any eggs they said no and then I said well it tastes really off for what it is then I politely asked for them to exchange for one of the other drinks that tasted a little less shitty to that they said let me talk to my manager if they can do that they come back with “we can’t do that if you want another one we can ring you up for it”

This business is happy to take your money in exchange for a disgusting product and won’t replace it for something else that is still disgusting but a little more tolerable.

Absolutely don’t waste your money there are way way better drinks around this city walking...

Walking up to the shop, it smelled like trash, urine, and dog poo. Due to the location of a dog area, homeless urinating on the sidewalk, and trash and grime being sprayed from the driveway nextdoor, into the street.

Upon entering the young girl who served me was nice. Although they did not have anymore egg whites for the power protein and still charged the full cost. You usually pay more for egg whites, IDK?

I also ordered a drink with boba and was told after ordering, there was no more boba and she offered a refund. Yet the drink was still made stating they refunded the boba only. I expressed how I wanted a boba drink and not having the boba was key. Therefore, I requested a refund for the entire drink.

My experience did not go well although, it may have...
