Fantastic restaurant that's extremely delicious! We were out walking around the beach and got a bit hungry so headed up the hill a couple blocks and found this place.
We love outdoor dining and saw they had tables outside. One thing led to another and then we were stuffing great food into our faces.
The menu has many options but we opted for an appetizer which was The Gilroy garlic cheese curds and they were very tasty. If you've ever had the cheese curds from the cheesecake factory, think that but better! Also the photo showing the cheese curds is missing quite a few cheese curds because I forgot to take a picture before we started eating them.
We were both out walking around and so we opted for salads. I got the surf salad with ahi and it was mighty tasty. I got the wasabi vinaigrette dressing and it had a small kick to it but nothing too spicy and it complimented the flavors of the Ahi and the grilled veggies that are mixed within the salad.
My fiancee went with the Cobb salad with the cilantro lime vinaigrette dressing and that was also delicious. She got chicken in hers and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
We will be heading back there again so I will update with what other goodies we try when we actually dig into their plates and such. They do have other things such as fish tacos, wings, ceviche, burgers, pasta and more.
It wasn't that busy for a early September Saturday and there was open tables around 1: 00pm. Although people did start coming in right after us.
I was also surprised with the cost as it was not that expensive for the two salads and appetizer with a soda and a tea.
Definitely a new favorite that we will back too.
Update #1: tried the buffalo chicken sandwich with cheddar cheese and regular fries. A+++ / also tried club sandwich with steak fries, also A+++. Great food!
Update #2: Tried the fish tacos. Also most excellent! The lady stuck with the Cobb salad with the cilantro lime dressing so nothing new on her side. Added photos of the...
Read moreEvidently they still don’t have the seating issue resolved. I arrived and two people were waiting for a table, so I joined the wait. Then 2 more joined the wait. At 15 minutes, the manager, Mike came to seat the first 2. The rest of us waited. Tables emptied. Tables were wiped. Still waiting. At 20 minutes, I walked up to the bar to ask why We were waiting, and she replied she had no idea! Mike-you’re the manager! What did you think we were waiting for?! I was a single. I could have sat immediately at the bar.
Fortunately Mike was not my waiter. But after sitting and watching I realized he wasn’t a waiter but probably a manager. The regulars sitting next to me provided his name and confirmed he was the manager. My waiter was the bartender who was fairly busy. On one of the no less than 3 visits to the table next to me, I heard Mike say he pitches in sometimes, so could you have filled my empty water glass?
The table next to me was clearly a regular and I understand they get preferential treatment, but how many times do I need to visit to be considered a regular? I had such a poor first experience, I will never become a regular. How many potential regulars have you lost with this review? How much does good service cost? If Mike had apologized for the confusion with seating things could have ended differently and I could have talked about the food or even how good the service was. The food was ok, but I was so angry about the 20 minutes of my life I will not get back I didn’t enjoy it. I also ordered a hot and cold appetizer For my meal and would have preferred the option to eat the cold one first and then had the warm...
Read moreCould not have had a worse experience last night 6/25/20. New Management = horrible. This is not the Nautilus Tavern any longer, it’s now the nightmare tavern. They didn’t follow COVID protocols, we had to ask for our table to be sanitized (there were drinks and food on it when we arrived and the server only wiped it off quickly with a towel). When I asked for sanitizer spray (like every other restaurant uses) the waitress rolled her eyes at me and then took more than 10 minutes to return, we had to ask repeatedly for our drink order to be taken. It just got worse from there. A new Waitress returned with her mask pulled down under her chin. We put our masks back on as a result. We placed our food order and the food was delivered one hour and 10 minutes later (a burger, 2 tacos and a nacho- seriously). We had to ask three times for food status and the male manager Apologized, said he really had no idea how the order was messed up and gave us a free round of drinks. The food finally comes out and the Chicken nachos (the easiest meal in the planet) had cold, rubbery chicken with cheese that was once melted was now congealed. It was inedible and missing half of the toppings (ie tomato’s and guacamole). Really? We sent it back. I was starving and they could have cared less. Best part is the bill finally comes and there was food on there we told them to take off. Never going back- ever. Praying we didn’t get Covid from this irresponsible, unable- to -serve restaurant. I had no idea the management changed until I googled...
