Time to review my last several visits here! This back of market grill is just a solid lunch spot. Consistent. Doesn’t skimp on portions. $16 for an oversized turkey with bacon and avocado sandwich with generous portion and most importantly; perfectly crisp fries! I also like their breakfast scramble that has everything in it and fills you til dinner, legit. Only $7!! The shrimp bowl and steak bowl with fajita also rivals any Mexican spot marinated steak, it is really tasty. Tuna nachos need some work. I love a good tuna nacho and still haven’t found my crave worthy ones. The wontons chips here little too dense, the tuna a tad chewy (both times I’ve gotten it) and can use more topping for the perfect bite (sliced jalapeño, scallion and diced avocado gives a good flavor combo, just sayin) Overall though, this will remain a good local staple!

What I absolutely love about Valley Farm Market La Jolla is the incredible selection of prepped meals—they have everything you could want for a quick and delicious bite! Beyond the fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses, and top-quality butcher cuts, they offer salads, pastas, roasted veggies, salsas, desserts, and more—all fresh, fairly priced, and super convenient. I grabbed their roasted potatoes, prepared carrots, and chicken breasts, making dinner effortless. The cold pasta salad was the perfect next-day lunch. Absolutely delicious—highly recommend!

The place is small, but nice and its's got a lot of grest quality goods. I recomend the meat and produce. However, I believe that the food service is not good. The people who attend it are not nice, they are unrespectful. I'll give it 4 stars onle because this place as a market is extremely good. 4/5. Been comming back ever since 3 years ago, and the food service has gotten better and the people who attend it are really cool. So, its a 5/5 for me. 5/5.

Fly infested and moldy or spoiled produce. The place has had a fly problem for at least 6-8 months. They’re even in the refrigerators when you go to grab milk or a salad. Head back to the produce department and there’s a swarm of 10-20 of them between the produce stands. They don’t have proper moisture control on the produce as I’ve ended up with things with mold on them when I got home, on multiple occasions now. I tried to buy cucumbers, the last time I got home and the back end was a little mushy with some mold on it, I was hoping it was random but today I tried to buy some again and every single one I picked up had some mold on the back end that was against the wall. The onions often have a squishy/spoiled spot on them I’m guessing because of the fact that they sit in the sun half the day. There’s an open kitchen and a meat counter but I couldn’t get away from the flies as I was waiting to order so I figured it’s safer not to. They do have delicious tuna salad (just don’t accidentally grab the one with corn in it, yes I said corn in tuna salad) and some of the salads are good if you get the luck of the lettuce not being slimy. The employees are always friendly and helpful. But they seem to just be used to the flies. And no there’s not a fly problem in the area. I live and work in the area and of course there are some flies but no where indoors are there flies like this, they’ve been in there a while so I’m sure they’re just hatching in there on the food or in the drains. The outdoor farmers market does not have this problem. It’s so gross. I even had a fly in my car after I left because I had left the windows down for the dog while I...

Mixed bag.

The good - butcher was very friendly and able to supply excellent marrow bones for my dog.

The bad - food from the kitchen

  1. $14 Deli sandwich - ‘The Don’ was horrible. Came on a huge dried out sandwich roll, with meat and cheese shaved so thin you could see through it. The quantity of meat and cheese looked to be 2oz. or less, was literally eating a huge dried out roll with a huge pile of mixed greens toss on top.

Ended up throwing away the upper half of the roll and it was still way too much bread for the measly amount of meat and cheese. Total rip-off

  1. $16 Baja Bowl, carne asada - requested 1/2&1/2 rice and greens. Received all rice.

Flavor and portions were decent.

Butcher case / Prime beef - NY steaks They are displaying steaks that are not center cuts and are frequently referred to as Vein Steaks… and are typically sold at a discounted rate by more...
