RB Donut is a great place to make your favorite after exercise destination (yoga, Pilates, boxing, jogging, and even you Peletons, though I prefer riding my bike there) you deserve the finest doughnuts made in America's finest city.
I have been getting doughnuts from RB Donuts since 2006. Wow! Over 15 years. It seems like yesterday; I would be getting to the RB Donut shop a little after 5:30 AM (so that I could make a conference call to the East Coast by 9 AM (eastern). I would get the big doughnuts (apple fritters, blueberry fritters, cinnamon rolls, and bear claws) for my software development team as a reward for getting the release out which was usually on a Friday.
What was unique for this development team was that the software quality assurance (SQA) team reported to the same manager as the development team (me). So on a Saturday or as late as Tuesday of the following week, I would get multiple boxes of the more regular doughnuts with a hole (old-fashion, fry cake (vanilla), chocolate fry cake) with no hole (twists, bars, and filled (jelly or cream)), with frosting (chocolate, maple, or any vanilla frosting dyed with the closest party day (green for St. Patrick's day, red/white/blue for the 4th of July) or without frosting (plain, powder sugar, cinnamon, glazed) and with a variety fo toppings (chocolate sprinkles, single color sprinkles, multicolor "rainbow" sprinkles, and peanuts). Quite the variety of combinations, which was good since there were more people in the QA department and we always had some people in Documentation, Service, and Support, loitering in the lab (waiting patiently) for the release to be qualified so that it would make the launch. Did you know that RB Donuts has large muffins, too?
Now that I am retired, I enjoy riding my bike to RB Donut and buying only one or two to eat there and have some to take home. For some reason, I rarely have leftovers. Perhaps, I should say some...
Read moreOur family has eaten donuts every Sunday since March 2020. It's been a routine and something we look forward to. Our favorite local shops are Donutopilos and Sesame Donuts. On Father's Day, my wife said she was referred to RB Donuts, as one of her coworkers said RB was much better than both. As I opened the box, initially, I was not impressed. One of the donuts halfway fell apart, but I remained hopeful. If you want to know how to wreck a breakfast treat - go to RB. The old fashion glazed, completely fell apart upon holding them, and tasted awful - similar to old grease all the way through. The chocolate cake donut was okay - the icing completely threw off the taste that made it unbearable. The apple fritter, again tasted like straight grease - awful! One thing about me, I love to eat...and I will typically eat anything! These donuts were so bad - I didn't even have the desire to finish them. The only reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of 0 (if it was possible), is because my 7 year old, ate hers. But when I asked how she liked hers...she put her thumb out and tilted it to the middle and said it was okay. I understand supporting a small business, but the quality of their product must increase if this shop is to...
Read moreExcellent doughnuts, but even better service. I went there this weekend with my two boys (2 & 4yrs) and they loved their choices. The owner's son Jaime, was extremely good with the kids and even helped us out when my son dropped his doughnut on the floor before even taking a bite! I can tell that he truly cares about this place and that he puts his heart and soul into it's success. It is very difficult to find people who work with such conviction for the business, but he is definitely one of them. A great example of people working hard to live the...
