I have been raised just about my entire life in Escondido, which is nearby Rancho Bernardo. I had gone all those years to the first Escondido Round Table still located by the corner of Washington & Ash St. Sadly, lately the store there and the one also owned by the same person (Mr. Sorrento) located on Country Club Ln. (ironically about a block from my house) has changed the way they bake their pizza and the quality is a FAR cry from what it used to be (I have written 2 extensive reviews of both Escondido locations here on Yelp)
HOWEVER...
We are now talking about the Rancho Bernardo location which has a DIFFERENT owner : ) Since I will not go to the other 2 locations in Escondido any more (read my reviews on them to find out why) I was kind of anxiously awaiting an opportunity when I might work more down South a little so that I would be able to go by this Round Table and see if the pizza there was still of the excellent quality that the other 2 places USED to have.
So, today I did indeed have an opportunity since I had a job in Poway which is a little more South of Rancho Bernardo. I made a point to go there for dinner and I ordered pretty much the same thing I always do, a small 3 ingredient pizza and a drink. The toppings being the classic pepperoni and double sausage. Well, I have GREAT NEWS! YES! Thankfully there is still a Round Table not too terribly far away that has very much so retained the excellent quality that I have known and loved from Round Table all these years! I even had a chance to speak with the manager (I didn't catch his name) but I told him my bad experiences with the way they are making the pizza at the 2 Escondido locations and was quite anxious to find out if theirs in Rancho Bernardo was still any good. I was very happy to tell him that YES, the way they make it there in Rancho Bernardo is still excellent!
Without going into too much detail since I have already written extensive reviews here on Yelp about the 2 locations in Escondido (With Pictures Too!) But, I told the manager at the Rancho Bernardo location that I really was thrilled that there still is a decent Round Table fairly nearby. I explained to him that the last few times I tried the Escondido Round Tables, the pizza was burned, EXTREMELY DRY, and almost inedible. BUT... I was happy to say that the pizza at his place was nice and juicy like I remembered it and the crust was done perfectly, not a burn in sight
So, I certainly HOPE that that continues so that when I have the chance to go a little farther South, I will be able to enjoy the wonderful pizzas there at the STILL FAITHFUL Round Table in Rancho Bernardo! :D

Read moreALI WAS THE RUDEST MANAGER/OWNER EVER!! I'LL NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! My 14 yr old daughter is performing in the parade in Rancho Bernardo today. Their school decided to eat at Round Table pizza. I had to drop them off in order to find a parking spot and a seating area for the parade because it was getting packed. When my children ordered their food they called me and told me what they ordered. I asked them why was it so much and if they told the cashier that they were part of the high school group. They said yes and that the manager got upset with them when they asked to get the same thing as the group ordered because their total was higher than what others ordered. They just wanted a refund or to change the order. He told them no because he was already making the order. The manager's name is Ali, who also happens to be the owner. My 18 yr old daughter called me and told me that he was very rude to them and kept cutting her off while she was trying to explain the situation. So I called him and he was rude to me as well. He yelled at me, cut me off, and said "you people" are not getting your money back and I'm not making anything for any of you because that's not how that works around here. I told him I would be calling corporate and that I would be coming there to speak with him in person to get our money back. He said you don't get it do you! He then said do whatever you want but you're not getting anything and hung up the phone. I called my children and told them what happened just in case he tried to say something else to them. I was walking over there when my children told me they were leaving. I should have went over there anyway to see his face, but we had to get my daughter ready for her performance. THAT WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED! And then for him to say "you people" made me just cringe. Ali is disrespectful, rude, racist, and money hungry....
Read moreI frequently order from this location. In the last 5 weeks 4 times usually once a week. Everytime I have ordered the double play and have told the over the phone when asked if I have a coupon that I will be using local flavor. Each time it is stated they will take care of it when I arrive. The first 3 times no problems. Then the 4th time on 6/24 I walk in and again to Cathy not sure if this is how she spells her name. She is training Stephanie. I state I have local flavor and she states you can not use it on the double play because it's using 2 specials. At that point I became extremely frustrated and stated how come this is the first time you have mentioned. Cathy kept stating well it's our policy. I made it very clear to her that she is the one who has mind you taken my order over the phone and my local flavor 2 of the 3 previous times to this incident. Not once did she apologize for her wrong doing. She continued to say we will honor it this time but it's our policy. She honestly had terrible customer service. At the point the manager finally walked out and asked what he could help me with. Again I explained the situation and he stated he would take care of it but its their policy. I voiced my concerns to him as well since he has to enter a code everytime I use a local flavor. I told both of them to check my history because it is the same pizza I have ordered the past 4 times. Mind you I go there often and honestly once I use my local flavors I will definitely not be visiting as I did before. It was very disappointing as to how there customer service was not how it should be. I oversee a business with 6 locations and as a manger I would be training the staff if they handled the situation in the manner Cathy had. They need help.
