The aesthetic is well executed, and the staff is friendly. They call you thinks like “brother” or “my man” or “sweetie”. I know this can be cringe, but it felt kind and warm. The fun house mirror makes it worth the trip in my mind, as modern society is sorely lacking in fun house mirrors. #facts #spittingfactsatya I went 2 nights in a row. The first night music was all surfy indie rock songs, that have the attitude of a tattooed man who knows a trumpet player. It really worked! And I thought it would be the same the second night. But No! The second night the music was a who’s-who of indie rock gems of 2005-2007. I was a big hipster teen at that time, and that was right up my alley. I got to tell my table “this is “I’m not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance” by indie outfit Black Kids, and they thought I was cool and knowledgeable. Big win for us Oink and what.cd blog-reading outlaws of my generation. The food was good.
Edit: I forgot that there was one thing I didn’t like! On one of the many tvs they were showing DR Ho’s motionciser - a foot massager that claims to be exercise. That infomercial played for an entire hour we were there. It was very strange choice. Other TVs had baseball games, drone shots of pretty shorelines, but the one I was facing has old people vibrating their feet and then giving testimonials about how they can now walk to the park. It was our entire time. My wife wanted to buy this stupid foot massager, and I had to explain why...

Spent a week in the San Diego area with our hotel near the Single Fin. Was looking for some fish tacos to start the trip and found this place with a little search help from the Google people.
Cool little spot for grabbing a bite to eat if you've been hanging on the beach and you can't go wrong with the fish tacos and cold brew. We ordered the grilled fish tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. Two market choice fish tacos on corn or flour tortillas, shredded cabbage, pineapple & mango salsa, chipotle lime crema. I went with corn and these are a must get!
My wife went for a cobb salad and lets be honest, at most places, a salad is a salad is a salad. It's pretty rare to find a place that has amazing salads unless it's a specialty of theirs, but it certainly wasn't bad either. We would order it again.
Something that I love trying are the local brews a state has to offer and San Diego has plenty of breweries to choose from. I tried something called mother Earth Cali Cream. A nitro that was one of the best beers I've had in a long time. I love west coast beers, because the folks on the west coast know how to make solid beers. Always creative and always made to enjoy!
Going to be in the area visiting, the Single Fin should be on your list for places to...
Read moreWe chose to try this place out bc it was within walking distance from our rental spot and we were intrigued by the $3 breakfast advertised along the beach. So glad we did! My family and I were a little bit of a task to handle but the owner, Tony, was a true professional and handled EVERYTHING with ease. His easygoing and playful energy was so infectious, I could tell it's what keeps all his regulars coming back. Ambience is perfect for a beachy brunch spot, loved the option to sit on the patio and the fact that they leave the doors open to allow the sun and fresh air in. Drinks were fun, delicious, and nicely presented. I don't feel that I can give a good review of the food personally bc I only ordered the $3 breakfast but my sister-in-law ordered a breakfast sandwich that looked amazing! Overall, really really great experience- definitely give this...
