Unfortunately, my first experience here was one of shrinkflation.
I wanted to support a local restaurant for lunch and hoped to spend $10 or less. Upon walking in the venue is damn near spotless and definitely has regulars. There were many mid aged and older gentleman sitting at the tables along the window and the kitchen and wait staff were occupied, but attentive.
I quickly perused the menu and settled on a cup of Indian curry soup. My logical brain told me to ask them to show me the size difference between the cup and bowl, but since it was their lunch rush hour I didn't want to be a bother. It took them less than ten minutes to prepare it which is ideal for a quick lunch break. As I got back to my desk and took the cup of soup out of the brown paper to go bag, I was disappointed at how tiny it was. As a tiny person, I don't need much to be filled, the cup of soup was more of a tasting based on the size alone and tickled my appetite. For $7+ I got eight ounces of soup; that's less than an ounce per dollar. The pricing was also different on the menu than what I was charged, but in their defense they did have a sign up front noting the change (reading is fundamental!)
Ideally, i would like to return, but would like the sizing of their portions (for the soup at least as I can't speak for the portions of any of their other dishes) to reflect the price. Great service and extensive menu...
Read moreSo incredible we ate here two days in a row! Krysta was absolutely amazing and accomdating to our gluten free and vegetarian needs. The food was delicious! Fresh and flavorful, we enjoyed Mimosa flights, the acai bowl, Swami's breakfast combo, the vegetarian hash and several of their smoothies. Cool, relaxed and trendy location (we stayed nearby at the Beau). Krysta also gave us recommendations for great spots to visit during our stay and was right on with her recommendations. When on vacation, it's not just the scenery and attractions that bring visitors back---it's the people you meet. Krysta is such a great representation of how wonderful San Diego is. We are already planning our...
Read moreWe were in San diego for a few days, and did some research on various places to go for breakfast and decided to try Swami’s Cafe. We loved it so much we went to eat breakfast there every day that we were in San Diego. The food was generous and delicious, I got the Farmer’s Scramble. It was so delicious that even my boyfriend started getting the same one. Georgie the server was incredibly nice, very helpful and attentive. We are very thankful with him for making our experience so nice. There is plently of sitting, the atmosphere is very nice and easy go get to! Highly recommend it. I forgot to take pictures, but still wanted to leave them a positive review as we were impressed with the food...
