From our first tasting to the wedding day, the experience was incredible. We’d tried a few caterers and had mixed opinions—but after sampling Tandoori Group’s food, we looked at each other and instantly knew they were the one. We loved every single dish we tried at our tasting (all ten of them!), which felt impossible up til then.

At the tasting, Varun went above and beyond. He took the time to walk us through each dish, brought extras we hadn’t even requested (like the bean and cheese samosas—an unexpected hit that immediately made it onto the menu), and offered thoughtful suggestions tailored to our event. He helped us choose the right live station, proposed unique touches like pre-ceremony sandwiches, fresh lassis, and sugar cane juice, and even gave us guidance on what rentals and supplies we’d need. He was flexible with our timeline and conscientious about our budget, allowing us time to travel to San Diego and finalize decisions without pressure.

On the wedding day, the food was a showstopper. Guests raved about it—many told us it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. The live sugar cane juice station was a huge hit (some people went back for six cups!), and one of our non-Indian friends even asked how she could book Tandoori Group for her wedding. Most importantly: yes, we made sure to eat everything ourselves, and it was all so good.

This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had while planning our wedding. We tried working with Tandoori Group for almost a month just to get a simple catering quote for a drop-off order. Communication was extremely poor from the beginning. We were passed back and forth, messages were read and ignored, and responses took days or weeks, if they even came at all. I spoke directly with Varun, the owner, who still failed to follow through with pricing. Our order was close to $1,000 for 50 guests, with delivery to Fallbrook away. It became clear that because our event wasn’t large-scale, they simply didn’t care. If you only want to take big, high volume events, that’s fine, but say that upfront. Don’t string people along, ignore their messages, and waste their time. I clearly explained to Varun that we’d be traveling and needed pricing before we left so we could lock in vendors. Still no response. It’s now nearly August and our wedding is in mid-October, and we’re left scrambling thanks to their complete lack of professionalism. See screenshots attached of our communication, clearly no response, read and even with multiple phone calls in between where I followed up directly with him. Still, no pricing or follow-up. I normally don’t leave reviews, but I had to take the time for this one because I’m genuinely upset. This experience completely disrupted our wedding planning and added unnecessary stress that could have easily been avoided with honest, timely communication. We recently had the pleasure of using Tandoori Group, (Varun) for our Mehndi, Mandap, Sangeet, wedding and reception, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From start to finish, they exceeded our expectations in every way.
