Tandoori House - Indian Restaurant & Catering Services — Restaurant in San Diego

This is a big review which I generally don’t like to do. However given the experience I had to write it all. We decided to go for tandoori house as we were on a trip to San Diego and was missing home cooked meals. We had dinner last night( Sunday 31st August) It was a big mistake in all aspects. Here is why As soon as we entered the host looked at us as if we were going to ask for free food or something (very straight face) The table we got assigned had rice particles on one of the chair which we only replaced Next and this was epic when we asked for hot water the host said “ We don’t have hot water , we can only get you water with ice or sparking water” that was hilarious. What it takes to get the Hot water ? And had to ask for specific number of napkins as the host was probably counting it that’s what it seemed to us. Upon asking for the restroom , the host with a straight face replied “it’s outside and it’s occupied” I waited for a while and could see people coming and going I was clueless so I went outside it had a key lock which the host did not bother to mention about getting the key earlier in any way. Now let’s get to the business FOOD: We ordered

1. Tandoori chicken Sizzler : There was chilly sauce base for the tandoori chicken. For tandoori chicken I haven’t had chilly sauce as a base that ruins the flavor as the sauce is very strong. The first bite was enough. We had to clean the strong chilly sauce pallet with rice and curry. Rest of the items were decent and okay
2. Rice 3) Garlic chicken curry 4) Masala papad 5) Roti 6) Aloo Paratha

I understand if it was the host’s bad day! That doesn’t mean they should behave this way with their customers. Food was okay Service was worst Ambience was okay. You can see the kitchen as you enter the restaurant. The curtains are open most of the time and weird

The series of events were evident and the host and food proved it right. We canceled the reservation for elsewhere to be here and very much regretted our decision. Hope no one else goes through the same process and pay for this...

This is an honest review and unfortunately I have to give one star. All experiences were very bad. We ordered biryani and unfortunately it didn't have any taste. I saw few small chicken pieces added into colored rice. No salt, spices or any flavor of biryani. So one star for food quality.

Service is also one star for taking our order and delivering the food at our table. After our dinner, I went to washroom which was outside of the restaurant and found the door of the washroom door was locked. I informed them about the situation and they said some one will go and open the washroom door, I waited for 3-4 minutes but unfortunately no persons came to open the washroom door, after my second request and after 5-7 minutes one person came and tried for atleast 2 minutes before opening the door.

Atmosphere was okay but I felt people running or working at the restaurant are not welcoming enough to their guests and because of the unfortunate washroom experience I couldn't give more than one star. One of my friend was so frustrated with the washroom experience, he said lets leave this unwelcoming place as soon...

I will never ever visit this restaurant again. There are many things that have happened so I will never prefer to go again I ordered mango lasi and when I tasted it I saw some type of spice taste in it so I told the server to change it but he refused to change and his behaved so rudely. The amount they charged us in the bill and the amount which was the price menu was not the same. it was our mistake to crosscheck the bill again. we checked the bill but only the items not the amount. It's too pricey, we ordered lunch buffet ( My husband ordered 3 types of non veg curry but all the curries are same) After eating food me and my husband even our friends also got sick. Now the Conclusion is that we will never go to this restaurant again. Don't waste your money. The staff member was so rude.
