A hidden gem.

There is something truly special about finding a restaurant that not only serves delicious food but also feels like a home away from home. This is exactly the experience I had when I visited Fairouz Cafe, a Lebanese gem tucked away in the heart of the city.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and kindness by the owners, who immediately made me feel like a part of their family. Their genuine hospitality set the tone for what would become a memorable dining experience.

As I took my seat, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful art adorning the walls. The carefully curated pieces brought the rich culture and history of Lebanon to life, further enhancing the authentic ambiance of Fairouz Cafe.

The menu offered a variety of traditional Lebanese dishes, each expertly prepared and full of flavor. Every bite transported me back to my homeland, reminding me of the comfort of home-cooked meals shared with loved ones. The exquisite tastes and textures of the dishes left me longing for more, eagerly anticipating my next visit.

What truly sets Fairouz Cafe apart is not just the exceptional food, but the unparalleled sense of welcome and belonging that permeates every aspect of the dining experience. From the engaging conversations with the owners to the vibrant atmosphere created by the art and decor, Fairouz Cafe effortlessly weaves together the essential elements of a truly remarkable dining experience.

I cannot recommend Fairouz Cafe highly enough to those seeking a taste of Lebanon or simply a warm, welcoming place to share a meal. Rest assured, I will be eagerly returning to Fairouz Cafe the next time I find...

Fairouz cafe was a wonderful experience that created authenticity and love with their meal.

This small service restaurant is tucked in an unassuming location but wows with it's exceptional service, personal touch, and home style feel. I typically shy from most Lebanese restaurants as what we have in Ohio is just mediocre. I eat gluten intolerant and struggle to find amazing experiences such as this. I would go out of my way to come back if I visit San Diego again.

Fairouz has a quaint atmosphere with it's paintings adorning the wall done by the owner and gives way to it's same love and detail from the wonderful couple servicing here. We had a chat about toum sauce and the conversation was very helpful and educational. I enjoyed every aspect of this meal and had a joke about not wasting any tomatoes as I don't enjoy them. They had joked about not liking cucumber and that we should trade. they understood so they took to servicing my main dish accordingly.

The sauce missed out on a little of that excess garlic as I prefer, but I loved it, as it was a great creation of this traditional Lebanese staple sauce.

The chicken was cooked almost flawlessly with a wonderful seared on the exterior for a great finish. The pilaf was a little more plain but perfect for the side addition starch.

The dinner salad was great. The feta was awesome and just purely blissful on this well balanced appetizer.

There's no doubt in my mind you will enjoy this experience. I couldn't stop myself from eating before taking a picture for this review.

Stay fantastic Fairouz. I hope to...

3 stars-Because this is a mom&pop restaurant and a staple in the community. Otherwise, the review would be unfavorable. I chose to eat here because I wanted a quick bite to eat and Lebanese was fueling my soul. Unfortunately, my soul is still empty. I ordered a garlic chicken shawarma wrap. Hmmm. I received a chicken sandwich engulfed with lettuce and two sad 1/2 sliced tomatoes with the garlic sauce on the side. The presentation was poor, the flavor of the meat was good but dry. I was terribly disappointed. The photo is me doctoring up the folded sandwich from home. Smh. 3 Reasons Why I Would Not Eat Here or Recommend 1). The restaurant is junky when you walk-in and it's physically an eyesore. Is this a storage? A loch ness lost in rubble. A walking hazard! What is going on here? I'm confused. 2). I question the sanitation and cleanliness of the tables. There is an aroma that is unpleasing which interferes with the palette. 3). If you pay for food and then go home to improve it, then eat at home. Here's a tip. Grill your own chicken with Greek seasoning marinated in lemon juice, French grey salt and Jerusalem olive oil. Slightly oil the pita on one side, sprinkle thyme and warm it on the grill. Prepare your own tzatziki sauce slice beautiful red tomatoes, wrap the chicken in between butter leaf, finely cut dill pickles, white onions, minced garlic and sumac with a squeeze of lemon... Enjoy... You're Welcome.
