Parts of this meal were so good that I will definitely give Los Ruiz another shot; at the time I ate there (late dinner) things had likely been cooking for a while and had gotten too chewy. Al Pastor tacos came on thick pressed corn tortillas - the meat was not melt-in-your-mouth soft off the spit though, it was a chewer. The special Azteca Burrito with carne asada and nopales/cactus also offered the same eating experience. Really good flour tortilla, grilled and made crispy in the right spots around the body of the burrito, but the insides were both not cut small enough, and far too tough to chew through. I'll be back at lunchtime one day to give them another shot, and to update the review accordingly.

BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. It was so good that we went here for dinner twice on a six day trip. The al pastor and the carnitas meat plates were to die for. I also had the limonada agua fresca, also amazing. One of the highlights of this restaurant is the large 32oz side of refried beans. Please see the menu and the photos for how large this is. As a huge refried bean enthusiast this really excited me so I had to purchase it obviously. This will for sure be my go to Mexican restaurant in San Diego if I ever return for an extended stretch of time. I can only hope that it will always be here!

Was a little hesitant to have breakfast from here because we weren’t feeling like having Mexican food. But it was sooooo yummy. We ordered the shrimp quesadilla and breakfast burrito with a side of large fries. The portions are ginormous so we had to pack half of it so keep that in mind. Everything tasted good. The green salsa was my favourite. The place is clean and the people are friendly too. Loved it.

I was a little skeptical at first for it was a lot better than I first expected. Ended up ordering every locations go to burrito, California burrito. Was somewhat confused. To begin with the burrito did not have guacamole (not sure if it was supposed to or not). Next the fries and cheese threw me off. Soft fries which I hardly ever come across. Enjoyed the potatoes out of it. The cheese was there but I didnt feel like I was just eating cheese which was nice. Finally, the meat. Switched the beef into chicken and well, I dont regret it. The chicken is soft over the usual hard chicken I find. It was seasoned which was new to me. And strangely, it all went well together. Do eat the burrito with the salsa to intake a nice balance of nutrients. I dont think you only want to eat carbs as a meal. I would come back if I...

I've tried this place twice I cannot even comprehend that they're ranking isn't closer to a two/ I'm positive that they pay for a higher rating, I ordered a quesadilla today The rude guy at the counter said that he could give me chicken with onions and bell peppers on the quesadilla I said if you put that onto a tortilla it'll make it soggy He said oh no we are perfect here we never make mistakes , It's also supposed to come with onions I asked for extra onions He told me they would put pico de gallo on it there was zero pico de gallo on it no onions on it just tortillas completely soaked in old water it was a horrible experience, I could tell you for sure that there must be thousands of bad orders and people are just too lazy to come here and put a real review on.... Never never will I go back, awful...
