I don't usually like to complain about establishments, because I know how hard people in the service industry work and I have great respect for their hard work, however, I felt it was only right to point out our experience so that we might save others from having as poor of an experience. When booking, the front desk staff Maya was wonderful and very helpful. The housekeeper, a young man whose name I didn't get, sadly, was also extremely helpful and wonderful. Our problems began the first night which was a Friday night, when we tried to go to sleep and as we fell asleep, the loud party in another room started. They screamed and laughed and even had a few fights going on in a room next to ours all night long. We finally called the after hours line because they do not have any staff on hand during the night shift, which is really a bad idea for any establishment located in the middle of party central in the Mission district. I wanted to be near the beach and someplace fun for my 18 & 21 year old sons, so they would have fun, but for rates over $300 a night, I expected to have peaceful sleep. When I called the after hours staff at 3:00 a.m., they asked me where the noise was coming from but I was afraid to go out side and find the noise since it was clear they were drunk and it was getting out of hand; my son heard someone get punched. Needless the say, the noise didn't stop. The noise and parties went on during Saturday and Sunday night too, plus you can hear the street noise from our room. I'm sure there are more quiet rooms, but we were in upstairs on the second floor in the middle of the courtyard, so the noise from the road was pretty bad. The reason why I am writing this review is because when I went to the front desk the following morning to speak to the manager, there was no apology, nor was there an apology on the phone when I called the after hours line at 3:00 a.m..Their attitude was like, 'oh well...' The cable didn't work upstairs in our room either, nor did Netflix, so all we had is the regular channels, which for over $300, is not acceptable. Our blinds were broken and one in the kitchen couldn't be closed. The coffee was small little single hits, but they only provided an old large 12 cup coffee maker, so I had to stuff 3 of those little pre-packaged single coffee pods and it still produced coffee water. A single hit Keurig would be my recommendation, although the room slept 4 people. What was really concerning is that the large 12 cup coffee maker didn't have an auto off switch so when we left the room for the day, we had forgotten to turn off the coffee maker, and only noticed that it was still on the next morning when we went to make coffee. That is a huge fire hazard, so I would highly recommend that the hotel upgrade to safe coffee makers. If you're looking for a fun party motel near the beach and near the bars and restaurants in the Mission area, then this place is good. The pool and hot tub were nice and the location is great! I loved their off street parking too, which was complimentary, which I appreciated. But if you want good rest, and/or are a light sleeper, then this is not the place for you. I know a lot of hotels were hit hard during Covid so I do hate writing this, but I wish the management had taken our concerns more seriously and I would not be writing this if this motel was $150 a night, which is really what it should be. Again, the staff when booking and the cleaning staff were wonderful. They MUST have a night shift person making sure that everyone can sleep. I know this is expensive but it would really help this place if they had someone managing the place when the parties begin as their other guests...
Read moreI urge anyone reading this to AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS. I'm currently staying here and it is insane how loud other guests are. The video was a portion of the noise volume after staff asked the family TWICE to quiet down and this is a group who were downstairs and at the other end of the pool area. And they apparently interpreted that to mean be louder and start playing music which is very clearly says isn't allowed in the pool area. This has been going on for hours. Despite my immediate concerns about the noise management offered no resolution at all and refused for me to cancel my reservation.
EDIT: Them replying to this saying they "care" is an absolute joke as the staff member initially agreed to cancel my second night stay but needed her manager to confirm and the manager came back with a refusal to cancel it. You're a liar.
I booked this property for my 30th birthday celebration and this is the worst place I've ever stayed. Paying $250 to be subjected to these absolutely loud and obnoxious people , to have a shower that doesn't even produce hot water (read the other reviews mentioning the plumbing issues in 216), and to just overall feel totally bamboozled.
Edit: it's now after quiet hours and I have called 6 times to try to get staff to respond to the additional noise and they are declining the calls both with the direct line and the...
Read moreMy son and his girlfriend stayed the weekend at this hotel. They went out to a bar walking distance from the hotel where apparently someone slipped something in their drinks. Both becoming very ill and his girlfriend ended up in the hospital. I'm in Texas getting a phone call that my son is in trouble, and not being able to get in my car to come to his aide was the worst feeling I have ever experienced. I felt so helpless. I called the hotel that evening repeatedly with no answer. I decided to call 911 and request a welfare check. The hotel management seemed to be bothered by the fact that I was calling. When they finally did answer the phone I tried to explain what my concerns were and the circumstances the attendant was so dismissive and had a snooty attitude. Her exact words were ”yes what do you want to tell me I've been dealing with that incident and I have another call.” I hate to think what would have happened if the police officer would not had made the trip out there. The general managers main concern is knowing what credit card she will charge payment for clean up fees. The hotel general manager Kimberly Pouykham had no compassion at all!!!! Be aware of your surroundings if you stay there and don't get sick on their premises. The hotel will not care about your well being, only their appearance and...
