Excellent location. Less than 2 minute walk from the beach and boardwalk. Rooms look different depending on which side you're on. I can only speak on two sets of rooms upper North facing rooms (facing an alleyway) and south facing rooms (facing a small street that leads to the beach). There are also rooms facing the north side under the terraces on the lower level that we didnt stay in so I cant review on that. Both rooms have Two beds a TV, a working thermostat
The upper rooms facing north with the terrace and balcony round tables out front have a bigger kitchenette area with a breakfast bar (cabinets sealed shut) and your usual mini fridge sink and microwave. It also had a couch that can pull out into a bed and shutter windows facing the balcony terrace. Cabinets sealed shut. Bigger shower than the south side rooms. Getting up the stairs at night on this side however is scary because you have to walk through a very small alleyway between the a partition between two buildings (office and cleaning building and the rooms) and you'd never know who's standing there. It's also the area where in the day time cleaners frequently pass through so sometimes you are blocked from going upstairs but they are very nice and sweet about you passing through. When sitting on the balcony tables in the morning and day you can see the water from the inn. It's an excellent view to have coffee or lunch to. A really big downside is you can hear more noise much easier coming from the outside and you can feel when people shut the doors in other rooms and other loud random noises. A few caulking and small cracks in our room personally. Window in bathroom facing the alleyway. No bedside outlets. Also I wasnt a fan of the sliding door (unlockable) for the washroom/restroom
The upper rooms facing south have a more nicer modern interior (in my opinion) and I personally liked it better but a much smaller kitchenette area with just a sink microwave and mini fridge and a desk. No balcony table out front but the windows were big and had a sliding door option behind the window shutters so you can have it open at night for fresh air. Much nicer view of the street. No window in bathroom. I liked that the bed headboard had two lights that you can use as reading lights and the switch is on the headboard. This side of the inn was personally more my style. Overall interior of the rooms were more modern. This side is better for a nap during the day much quieter in comparison. Beside outlets. I have no complaints personally
There is a bus stop right outside the inn. 6-10 minute walk from beach side restaurants, bars and local stores. It's a mix of residential and tourist area so you get a lot of people walking in the morning and day and it feels very safe.
They offer room service from a third party it's just a lunch and dinner thing with no breakfast.
All the cleaners and staff were nice...
Read moreThe fact that my friend left a very sentimental belt given to him from his grandmother over 30years ago. In the room by accident. No real number to call, an error message each time. Emailed the hotel. Never a response. By the time i could get down there. Come to find out different hotel name and complete different building owns all three. When finally i could get a hold of the manager. Comment was yes there was a belt here, let me check. Sorry no longer here. Was told would speak with hotel maids to see in the lost and found. Only to receive a text message back. Sorry no belt found you did not leave behind. First off. Something worth the world to you, you will remember where u last took it off. Especially when u only had one bag, no belt on u or inside ur bag. Along with a few other things. So that tells me the maids are taking items of value from these customers and not reporting or informing customer such items was left behind. So again what happened to this rare belt that no else could describe other then the person that it belongs to. Especially if u can see multiple items were left. U must have known something happened to leave several items. Policy is all items are to be turned into maids lost and found. So what maid had that room that day. There is no way this maid could have forgotten a specific special belt like this, taken from this room. I say to this company do the right thing and found out who took this belt. Ur company has a sticky finger employee on ur hands. I wonder how many other customers have had the same issues, from this company. Took me three days to find any info to contact company and manger. Even then I had to wait until the next day. If u own this hotel why not correct all information to correct info. Why not have a recording or forward this hotel number to the correct hotel. Why is it no one is answering this hotels emails as well. Why is there not anyone at this office ever. If we would have been able to actually get a hold of someone, anyone in the timely matter we attempted in several different ways. My friend might have not lost his belt from his grandmother over 30years old. That can not just be replaced. There is no Amazon for this belt. If this belt is found and returned to the proper owner and not just brushed off like nothing. I will change my review. Other then that I would not trust...
Read moreThe 3 stars are as follow: 1) It's 20 feet from the beach; 2) it's dog friendly; 3) they gave decent price for last minute weekend booking.
The front desk person quoted me decent price for last minute booking on a Friday. When we arrived to look at room, she said only a king suite available in the separate, single level part of motel, but honored lower quote. She also let us have same rate for Saturday night. In other words, good customer service.
The room, however, is disgusting. It IS huge, with large separate kitchen (though not full kitchen- 2 burner hotplate, microwave, mini fridges), including cookware, dishes and utensils.
BUT IT STINKS!! Really bad. Serious mold problem. I was stuffed up and nauseated within 10 minutes of being inside. Even with a Benadryl i woke up with red eyes. I had to leave fan on full blast and open all windows and front door when in room. The carpet is stained, the bare box spring is dirty, and the couch has disgusting stains that smell like pee from 2 feet away. My dog was overly interested in those stains. I would not let her on the couch for fear of what she might contract.
The shower window is moldy and doesn't stay open, the shower has no door, and I was afraid of what was growing in space between shower and sink as it clearly had not been cleaned in years. There are brown splatter stains on wall behind toilet (!).
I was very concerned about bedbugs. I will find out soon enough, I guess. The bed creeped me out but I will say it was comfortable. Then again, I prefer very firm mattresses, so if you like soft you're outta luck.
The vinyl upholstery on the two chairs had mostly crumbled off and I swear the seat cushions were damp.
The lock on largest window was broken off, which is disturbing since it's on ground level facing parking lot. I figured out how to jimmyrig it locked, but if I didn't have my very alert dog with me I'd have needed a different room. Kitchen windows face street and would be super easy to climb into, especially since one didn't even have a screen.
Despite all of this, we stayed on for a second night for 2 main reasons: right on beach and dog friendly.
If I had found another place on short notice for Saturday, I probably would have left, but I didn't want to waste my vacation moving around. I would probably avoid in future...
