This is a great little relaxing spot that has a nice patio, and large floor to ceiling windows on one whole wall of the dining room that faces the course. I really love the atmosphere.
Food Bacon was thick, the gravy on the biscuits and gravy tasted a bit watered down but was still good. The coffee was good too!
Service The woman serving me was nice, but I felt like they didn't want me to sit outside for some reason. I arrived, and before getting seated notice they had a patio so I asked if I could sit out there because I just love being outside. She mentioned it probably was wet out there from the fog, but she also didn't go check until I asked if she could. I told her that wouldn't bother me at all and that I'm just happy to be outside. I had to mention it twice, and got the feeling she just didn't want me outside for some reason. I even told her I would gladly wipe the table down myself. She finally checked and It ended up hardly even being wet out. I think I was the only customer at the time as they had just opened for the morning.
I met Steve on my way out and he was a great guy! Definitely coming back again despite the odd reluctance to seat me outside. Just a nice relaxing spot. Good way to start...
Read moreProbably the worst breakfast experience we’ve ever had. Let me start by saying, it wasn’t busy. There were 4 tables seated, including us. And there were at least 4 servers. The service was shockingly bad. Our server got my order wrong and missed 2 other items ordered. After we were brought our whole order, we never saw her again. We had to go to the counter to get our check and a to go box for my daughter French toast. Speaking of the French toast, that might be the only decent thing on the menu. My omelet was bland to the point of being inedible and my husbands was just as bad but he suffered through due to hunger. Finally, I asked one of the servers at the counter where the bathroom was. Without looking at me she said “down the hall”. There was no hall. I asked her to clarify and she got very annoyed. It was through a set of double doors, through another room and down a set of stairs. She was beyond rude and unhelpful. With all the good breakfast places in the area, it’s really surprising this place even does any business much less has decent reviews....
Read moreWhen we moved to South Park I was pretty sure my golf game was going to improve. Or at least I'd play more often. That isn't the case. What I did find myself doing a bit more of was holding meetings at the driving range followed by breakfast or lunch at Tobey's.
When we first started going there it was cash only which was kind of a pain. They've since rectified that problem which was my only real complaint about this greasy spoon type diner on the green.
The bar area is where the action is. It's a classic diner counter with classic diner food. My favorite item thus far has been the chicken fried steak, which, I'm sure if my wife knew I was ordering, she'd be pretty upset about it. It's delicious in all the sinful, lowbrow ways you would expect.
As diners go, it's quiet, out of the way and quaint. Not really worth making a special trip to, but if you're already at the range, there's no legitimate reason...
