Hey, know, I do like a new Mexican eatery, and this one is great. I came in for breakfast and ordered two of the "al la Mexicana" breakfast tacos for $5.50 each.
They were great. They came doubled wrapped in warm corn tortillas and generously filled with freshly scrambled eggs, grilled mozzarella cheese, chopped red, yellow, and green peppers, onions, and topped with freshly sliced avocado. The tacos were supposed to have beans, but they did not come with any. The tacos were great and were even better with the salsa quemada. The salsa quemada found at the salasa bar was terrific in flavor and a good medium heat.
The service was very nice. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. I liked that they offered inside and outside seating. They offer a few breakfast items, but a lot of seafood items. I look forward to returning. We'll get those...
Read moreI tried Tulum for the second time today. The first time I had Tulum, a coworker brought some fish tacos into the office for lunch and they were solid. What caught me was how good their salsas were and how well they complemented the flavor of the tacos.
That was enough to get me into the store this afternoon where I had the "Huachinango Frito" (whole fried red snapper). I couldn't believe how good it was. No wonder the cashier said this was one of their better selling dishes. The consistency of the fish was just right (not too dry, not under cooked) and flaked easily off the bone. The seasoning was on point - zesty and savory
Whatever it is they're doing with salsa should be noted. The Serrano Lime was flavorful and the Quemado packed a mean punch. Both good in their own respects. I'm adding this place to the monthly eating out rotation...

Their Caesar Salad has Cilantro Caesar dressing! I love the unique taste, and like getting the Revolcados to put on top.
The Revolcados (spicy fried shrimp) were delicious but pretty spicy. If you like spice, you might love them. I wouldn't try to be a hero though, unless you like crying in public. 😁
Their food seems less processed, or more natural, so some people might miss that salty taste. But, I think a lot of people will appreciate the difference. Their food might not be the best you've ever had, but I really enjoyed...
