HALAL CERTIFIED EATERY (3.5*) Located in Rancho Mission Plaza next to McGregor's. Wagyu Shawarma Grill menu is rich with flavors that offer an array of options from kebabs, wraps, salads and delectable sides. WHAT DID YOU ORDER? Wagyu plate: 1/2 chicken tikka and wagyu beef skewer w/hummus, fattoush, & pickled beets. Although it is high quality meat, the tikka and wagyu kebab were dry and not as seasoned as comparable eateries. I am not a rice eater although I appreciated the texture of this rice. The side salad was not memorable, but I did like the beets. Pepsi products-boo. My 11-year-old foodie ordered the wagyu shawarma and he was impressed with the juiciness of the wrap but commented the meat should be sliced thinner instead of long thick slices  and He also wanted a balance of vegetation and sauce filling instead of meat, meat, meat. Good for a carnivorous eating plan. My 13-year-old ordered the gyro halal wrap and had similar impressions. Adding that the pita was crisp and so thin that the meat overpowered the sandwich. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE WITH HALAL? Though not said, but implied, Wagyu Grill prides itself on serving a wide variety of authentic, halal-certified dishes that cater to a diverse palate.  I agree. Plus most dishes have halal in the menu name. The assurance of halal certification is a significant comfort for those adhering to a halal diet or faith based practices, making it a popular choice for the droves of customers observed within the 2 hours I was there. HOW WAS THE SERVICE? Excellent. Personable. Responsive. WOULD YOU EAT HERE AGAIN? Price points at the eatery are reasonable, considering the quality of food and the portion sizes. It offers great value for money, whether you're opting for a light snack or a full-course meal. There are other options on the menu that may be specific to this chain and I find it will be worth trying in the future. Halal wagyu kebabs and wagyu shawarma in SD. Being in SD, I had to try this because anywhere there is halal wagyu we make the trip out. I got the wagyu beef kebabs on a salad for dine in and a wagyu shawarma wrap for later. One thing I noticed, is that everyone in the restaurant and outside seating had wraps. So if you’re going to try one item, get the wrap if you can. The beef kebabs are juicy with a slight crisp on the outside. I wish I tried this in the wrap but was sharing with those who didn’t eat gluten at the time. They have separate fryers for fries and fried chicken, so if you have a gluten allergy you can still get fries. The beef shawarma is slightly tougher than shawarma that I have had before so I would recommend wraps over plates/ fries as the sauces, veggies, and bread help with the texture. Make sure to get extra sauces. We liked the chipotle and garlic dipping sauces. Everything was served in disposable bowls/ plates even when we dined in. Spoke with the cashier, and they use Australian halal wagyu for the items that are Wagyu.

My hubby and I have been looking for a great Mediterranean place and we found it! Not only is the food spectacular the service.... the cashier I believe his name was Roni.. was wonderful at helping us decide what to get. I got the plate with wagyu beef shawarma and the chicken tikka... And it was just wonderful everything was right on point the wagyu beef shawarma was amazing . The rice was awesome and the hummus was perfect...the portions were great . I shared it with my daughter...the chicken tikka was moist and the hubby got a wrap with wag you beef he said was amazing... Tahini and the sweet and spicy were my go-to sauces.. Our daughter enjoyed everything which made be very happy because she's super picky. We also got desserts which were really good I agree with the cashier the Walnut baklava was divine.. So they have so many other options on the menu as well as kids menu ..if you're in the mood for good Mediterranean food this is your place I definitely recommend it!!!

For every high-rated establishment, there has to be a proverbial team member who gets the bad end of the stick - I am that member who took one for the team today. I was in the mood for shawarma, and my usual spot was closed, so it was time to explore. It was between this place and another - I chose here and was pretty excited about it. The restaurant was not busy, was clean, and I did not wait long for my food. The guy who took my order was pleasant enough.

The food was wholly underwhelming. I got what seemed to be the most popular item - beef shawarma wrap. I threw in some fries and a piece of baklava for good measure. The beef had no flavor; the fries tasted like old oil. Another thing is I have never in life had dry baklava. It was so dry that by the time I got home, the entire filling had come out of the dough in one piece. There was no honey or syrup in the whole pastry - I don't know what was holding it together. After this experience, moving forward, I will dine in when trying someplace new. It sucks spending money, get home, and the food...
