This place is a complete joke. I had a groupon I tried to use multiple times & they never pick up their phone. I even placed an online order, and when I went there it was closed! So I tried for the final time, I called FOUR times to confirm my order, and no answer. Then an hour later, at 8:58 (btw they close at 9) they called me back. Are you serious? I’m not answering a call an HOUR later about my order with no confirmation, no response, no anything!! Seriously. I try to be lenient because as a chef myself, I understand things happen. But this has gone on for days straight. I requested my refund already and will never support a business that does not care about the people who pay their bills/checks.

I ordered chicken briyani and it was the worst one that I ever had. Instead of making a real biryani they add all FROZEN vegetables to my CHICKEN biryani and threw some pieces of chicken in there. The rice were sticking to each other. No biryani flavor at all. Upon seeing reviews now…I see only American people are praising this restaurant’s food bcz may be they actually don’t know how these Nepalese or Indian food should be. All the reviews I see from Indian people are BAD. If you want to try anything Indian, please don’t waste your money or time for this restaurant.

I brought my husband here as we were still craving Indian food, and we were delighted. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, our server was gentlemanly and prompt, and the food met every need we didn’t know we had. Jk, but it was indeed so tasty that we almost ordered more just to bring home. In the picture is tikka masala chicken (real rich and hearty), cheese naan, rice, and the Himalayan plate appetizer, perfectly accompanied with glasses of water. I def recommend this location and look forward to dining here again.

DISRESPECTFUL COMMENTS MADE TO ME BY AN EMPLOYEE, THEN THEY ADDED A TIP I DID NOT LEAVE!

Had a really questionable experience here. I was picking up a carry-out order I had phoned in earlier when one of the male employees yelled over to me from where he was supposed to be cooking to make a sexist, assumptive comment on my appearance while I was minding my own business waiting to pay at the counter. I'm not one who is easily offended or even minds a comment usually, but even I was like this is way over the line of what is acceptable. Especially for a business. I'm not even going to say here what he thought I looked like because it doesn't matter, I'm certainly not wanting to offend somebody else, but let's just say it was not a flatering comparison by anyone's standards at all and was not a compliment in any way. There were two other employee witnesses standing right there who stayed out of it and did absolutely nothing. So basically nobody stepped in and told this guy to stop or that this kind of behavior was uncalled for. They didn't even look surprised quite frankly, like this could easily happen all the time, even after I quite disapprovingly questioned him myself on what he had said to me. It was unprofessional and inappropriate on so many levels. Women shouldn't have to be in the position of feeling uncomfortable, scrutinized and under a microscope when they're just trying to pick up some dinner. This guy should have been doing his job, not yelling unsolicited comments across the room telling anybody how he thinks they look that day. I was so shocked and stunned, almost thinking I had somehow misunderstood him, but NO. I really should have just canceled the order and walked out, but I had the pen in my hand to sign and said to myself "well, there's no way I'm leaving a tip!" But guess what... they magically added one for themselves anyway! The total was $40.68 and when I checked my statement online they had conveniently upped it to $48.68 giving themselves a nice $8.00 tip for take-out on top of insulting me! I wonder if they actually forged a line through the 0 I wrote to make it an 8 or if they just pretend it's an input error if they get caught, but it was deliberate. They probably do stuff like this all the time. Already disputed this contrived total with my bank and luckily still have my original receipt. Seriously, be wary of this place. And if you're a female going there by yourself certainly don't expect to be treated with any respect or dignity. You're just an object for them to judge like it's nothing and normal, make comments about and then take extra money from after you leave. Oh, and as far as the food goes I ordered spicy curry sauce and it was mild so they got my...

Fantastic food, great menu, and great Taj Mahal beer. I had shrimp tikka masala (spicey). Daughter had the vegetable korma (spicey)--both dishes were awesome. We has naan (2 orders) and the light fluffy rice. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was as well. Wife ate some from each of our plates.

The owner's nephew Gokul, was a delight. VERY attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Great ambiance. Great smell of incense walking, great aroma as well. I loved the smell on may hands afterward (this may sound weird, but I ate the traditional style with the naan and my fingers--but you do not have to get so engaged as I).

There is a door that leads to their shop where one can buy clothing, incense, decorations and other Nepalese and Indian items. There is also much artwork throughout the store that is for sale. I will be buying something soon--wife and daughter love the incense.

Please support this local business, not only since it is local, but a good value and a gastronomic delight as well--If you want a true taste of Nepal and India come HERE!

We were so enamored with the food, that we forgot to take pictures. I will post them when we eat...

On Wednesday 8/3/23 I went to Himalayan Cafe in San Dimas for the first time.

Zokul, service staff/manager was friendly, hospitable, and attentive. He introduced us to specialty Himalayan foods and provided us with complimentary garlic nan and white rice. We ordered a few dishes: Himalayan Plater (appetizers), Chicken curry, Tandoori chicken, and Biryani (special rice). The dishes have full of flavors and herbs. It’s worth trying new foods.

The restaurant has beautiful decor and lots of seatings. It’s a tranquil environment with other friendly customers where we have conversations across the restaurant discussing about the awesome foods the restaurant serves. Also having conversations within our party over delicious specialty Himalayan foods.

I recommend this restaurant and will be going back to try the other dishes on the menu. Thank you Zokul for your hospitality and foods guidance.

I recommend this restaurant and be returning to try other dishes on the menu.

Happy restaurant exploring!
