This was my first stop on a string of cocktail bars for my evening in SF. It was the perfect start. The vibe was absolutely enthralling. I loved the low-light, speakeasy environment. It was a Monday when I went and it wasn't too busy which I liked a lot. The service was exceptional. The bartenders were super friendly, had good conversation, and made bomb-ass drinks. I planned on only have 1 drink before the next bar but ended up getting 2 here because they were so damn good. To start I had the SF suckerpunch which was refreshing and flavorful. The bourbon was not overpowering which was great because in my opinion a good cocktail shouldn't be overpowered by the liquor put in the cocktail. The lemon, while a garnish, pulled the drink together wonderfully. The second drink I had was the Pimm's cup. Holy ** this drink was a masterpiece. Instead of mint juleps at the Kentucky derby, these are what they should be serving at Churchill Downs. It's extremely light, refreshing, and the hints of mint made me feel like a just brushed my teeth. The hint of ginger also just made me feel all good inside. I recommend this place to friends, family,...
Read moreFirst off, pay attention to the fact that this place is not wheelchair accessible. Because I sure didn't. And it's not just that it's up this ridiculously steep slope, it's that it's also up a flight of four or five steps. But, now, that aside...
I came here several months back, to meet up with two Seattle Yelpers that had also moved down to SF, where we shared an order of fries, hush puppies, and a pitcher of sangria. And, well, while the hush puppies weren't anything to write home about (but then again, I'm rarely impressed by hush puppies, so), both the fries and the sangria were quite tasty.
If only they were accessible!
Accessibility Info
Venue - So, like I said before, this place is hardly the picture of accessibility. Once you're inside though (some of the staff inside kindly lifted me in and out), the venue is quite spacious, so seating isn't a problem.
Bathroom - Didn't try, so no comment, but I think the reason I didn't try was because the bathrooms weren't accessible either. In all fairness, this IS quite an...
Read moreI love the vibe! I almost went to the Saloon, but the live music scared me off (often too loud for me) so I wandered up the alley to this place (probably stay on the main streets) and waltzed in. I was greeted by a homey warm feeling with a little bar tucked into to opposite corner. I was surrounded by comfy looking seating the whole way (lots of non bar seating) it seemed to be a pretty quite Sunday so I took a spot at the bar and I was greeted by a friendly bartender. She was a great help, and quickly made me feel like I was in my neighborhood bar back in Wisconsin. I had a great cocktail "When in romolo" the fact that they use old time seltzer was a nice touch. I followed up my cocktail with a few scotches I haven't had before. Their liquor menu was diverse and wide enough you will likely find something you haven't tried before. Although I fly back to my Wisconsin later today, I know if make it back to the City, 15 Romolo will be one...
