THE RUDEST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in a vintage store! As many reviews here have indicated, the owner is incredibly rude. I was simply browsing with my friend and saw this cute item and was prepared to get four of them, but thought that might be a bit too repetitive because the color patterns were the same. Then I grabbed my phone and started looking up if there were different patterns online. The owner came over and scolded me for looking at my phone in THE MEANEST POSSIBLE WAY. I told him I was looking for a different color pattern and he walked up to me, rolling his eyes, and said, "Oh, and you are going to find that on Amazon?" He didn’t even apologize after I explained my situation.
First of all, being a small business does not give you the right to treat customers this way. Plenty of stores on Valencia Street are small businesses and curate their own collections, and you don't see them having such terrible customer service. If your vintage collection is so easily imitable that one Google or Amazon search can defeat you, I don't see the point of claiming that you spent a lot of time and effort collecting vintage items because they are just one simple search away. If you’re that worried about competition and not at all confident about your own tastes and collection, why bother opening a store?
Second of all, how out of touch and low do you have to be to attack potential customers for looking up information on their phones? To burst your bubble, but it's within a customer's right to compare prices, find complementary pieces, or simply just to learn more about the product. If you are this insecure about the product in your store then I gotta say you also have some ideas about how little you have to offer.
It’s just sad to have no confidence in your own product, no decent customer service, and no respect for customers. All in all, maybe the owner should spend less time being insecure and more time creating a more welcoming...
Read moreCute store… but the owner/whoever was working there… So weird and disrespectful to my girlfriend.
We walk in and it turns out they have a little tray to leave your drink, totally fine. We don’t see it and after a minute the owner walks up to tell my girlfriend to put it on the tray which she does.
He proceeds to stare her down for MINUTES, at which point she feels so uncomfortable she walks to a different area and tells me he’s just staring at her and making her uncomfortable. He then starts staring at me when it was brought to my attention and then walks over asking if we have a “question.” We say no and he says we are staring at him but when we point out he has been just staring at us for minutes, he says he just wants to make sure we are “cool.” In a very condescending way as if we are disrupting the peace by looking at merchandise with the rest of the patrons.
Idk if he thought I was going to steal the little tray I was going to buy, or if he just decided that if someone doesn’t put their drink on the tray they don’t see that they deserve to be stared at until they’re uncomfortable. But based on other reviews, he is a gross person with no customer service skills or compassion. Enjoy selling...
Read moreI visited the store earlier this year and really like the layout and the selection of the products, so later this year I came back to this place again. However I was so disappointed by the customer service.
I was just wondering in the store and found something interesting so I started googling the brand. Then the staff came over and asked me do I need any help, saying that he noticed I took out my phone and started searching so he wanted to answer any questions I have. I initially thought he was being so nice, so I told him thanks but I just never heard of this brand so I started googling. Then he told me something about this brand, yet again questioned me why I’m still browsing the internet. At that point the questions just became suspicious and sarcastic. He just starred at me and I don’t understand that why I can’t google in the store to get more information? Why he had to make the atmosphere so hostile? I felt so uncomfortable and just stopped engaging with the conversation. Even though I had the thought to purchase the product, but I don’t want to buy it at this store because of how I...
