I cannot express my love for this place. The food is always good and fresh, the options are solid and the possibilities are endless. Every times I've ordered from here I've been happy. I usually get the three fresh rolls or the rice bowl depending on how hungry I am. If you are super hungry or have a long day ahead of you with little breaks in between, the rice bowl is your best bet. The best meat is the lemongrass pork, the chicken is standard, and the tofu is good, but for the price I would suggest getting your money worth and going for the pork. The sauce options are top notch (I always have extra in my to-go orders) and the drinks are good too! The grab and go case is a nice option but I usually just order ahead. The pho is alright, I'm more for a tastier broth, but it's still really good. Since the pho is only available during certain times I made sure to try it at least once, and that's all you really need. The only caveat is the price, owing each item was a dollar cheaper, but for the location, speed, quality, flavor, and options, it's a solid win. Whenever I bring this food to work, people ask me where I got such a tasty looking lunch. If you love Vietnamese food, do yourself a favor and try this place out. It's usually pretty busy so I suggest ordering ahead with the orderahead app. The sandwich is less traditional being cut completely and the bread is a little different than what most come in, which, to me, makes it skippable, but if you really want it, it is delicious; I just don't like spending over $5 for a sandwich. This place is amazing and I wish there were...
Read moreI visited this outlet twice. The first time, I had hot "garlickey" noodles. It was served pretty quickly, but maybe too quickly because it wasn't hot enough: just warm. With the cold air blasting in from outside every time someone opened the door, it didn't take much time for the dish to go entirely cold. Taste-wise, it was good and the portion size was also satisfactory. On the second occasion, I came with my wife: I tried the veg sandwich and she tried the veg fresh roll which was wrapped in rice paper. It was very interesting just to see the way it was wrapped: very neat. Both items were very tasty. The items are not heavy on the pocket and are definitely worth trying. I'd like to try their fresh bowls which can be customised: they have all the options displayed on the walls and in easy steps. You start with the noodles, rice etc, then at each step keep adding more items such as sauces, proteins etc.
Seating is available for maybe around 15 - 20 people. It's a casual place and people are quick to come and go. All the vegetables seen were bright and fresh. The orders can be placed via a touchscreen placed near the entrance. The order is ready very quickly: around 3 people were manning the kitchen / service area. They have segregated waste bins where the diners are expected to dump their own waste. The place was neat and clean on both my visits. There are no dedicated parking facilities since the access is only via the very busy 4th Street.
Overall, a fun place to go and try some interesting Vietnamese items. I'd love to go back again....
Read moreI needed a quick, easy, and delicious lunch, and Freshroll not only was on my way to Oracle Park from my hotel, but also didn't break the bank for lunch.
I stopped by around 2 pm and based on recommendations from other Yelpers, decided to order 2 of their fresh rolls, which was enough to keep me satiated but not super stuffed. I started with two, thinking that if I was still hungry, I can always order a third later.
You can choose the protein in their set fresh rolls, which come with vermicelli noodles, mixed greens, cucumber, pickled veggies, cilantro (I took that out since I don't like cilantro), and crispy goodness, wrapped in rice paper. I chose the honey-soy chicken with namnam sauce (their secret and most popular aioli sauce that's gluten-free) and the grilled pork with grandma's peanut sauce. I love both rolls, as they were refreshing, light, and packed with different tastes and textures. I did find that I liked the peanut sauce over the namnam sauce, so next time I would order the same protein with the peanut sauce.
You order up front at the kiosk and pick your own seating while waiting for your order to be ready. There's a good amount of seating inside for various group sizes and their employees were very helpful with my questions about the food. Since I was traveling on foot, I didn't want to seek or think about parking.
If I was here with more people, I would have loved to order more things to try family style, like their garlic noodles or their fresh...
