If you’re looking for an authentic Tunisian, classy taste, and classy friendly service, this is the place. but my favorites because I’m a seafood person are the octopus salad and the Mullet fish!!! And the fresh backed bread10/10 !Exceptional service, ambience, music and the atmosphere, are warm, relaxing, and makes you feel welcomed. The server Mahdi serves elegantly, quietly, and nicely, we were group of people, and we were talking the way he put the food and take off the table very classy. You don’t feel even what he’s doing. He doesn’t interrupt, he made all the effort to be like a butterfly when he put the food, and takes the dishes away so we keep continue talking. The owner, super friendly caring for the customers. He walks around ,his eyes on each table, and at the door to open the door by himself to grade the customers, and the communication among the servers and team and him amazing. They look at each other and they understand what do they want to do without loud voices without calling each other , I really enjoyed and appreciate their manners and attitude for the best interest of the customers This is the second time for me here and I come from a different city to meet friends and for business matter. What an excellent They serve you with many languages!!! Arabic, English,...

I had the pleasure of dining at an exceptional Tunisian restaurant and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the staff made us feel right at home. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a memorable experience. The food was absolutely fantastic! Every dish was bursting with authentic Tunisian flavors, beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. It's clear that the chefs pour their heart into every plate. The highlight of the evening was meeting the owner, a kind and generous gentleman who made us feel like honored guests. He took the time to chat with us about the cuisine and culture, adding a personal touch to our visits. To our surprise, he even sent us two additional dishes for free, allowing us to sample more of their incredible offerings. This gesture truly showcased his passion for hospitality and his commitment to sharing Tunisian culinary traditions. If you 're looking for an unforgettable dining experience with outstanding food, welcoming staff and a personal touch, this is the place to go. I can't wait to return and try more of their...

I could'nt've (<- check out my contraction) been more happy at dinner. The food was great, the owners and employees were kind, and it wasn't too loud. We ate around the menu that day, it's not a massive menu, but everything on the list can fend for itself. For starters we tried their crazy-crazy eggs with shrimp and some special sauce. I wasn't familiar with it but it was good. We also got this big folded over thing called Brik. It reminded me of some Moroccan treats that are a lot smaller, but this was more of an appetizer with potatoes and capers. It was really good! We ended up getting Lamb Tajine and Branzino for our main courses. I have to say, the Branzino was probably a little over-salted for most people, but it was right down my alley. I've never enjoyed a fish more. The Lamb was equally delicious, with the dark color and perfect seasoning. Dessert..... Let me tell you about dessert. First, the cream looked delicious, then we knocked it over by accident onto my Baklava, then we ate both and smiled like the Grinch did (ear to ear). What an amazing place. The place is a little cramped, but it wasn't something that we were bothered by, it's the city. Even when the waiter shuffled in between the tables it wasn't like his butt cheeks were relaxing in your soup. It was just enough space. The place had light music in the background and a nice bar, it was a really nice place.

We loved Gola! I was glad we made a reservation because it was totally packed when we got there on a Saturday night (a great sign). The comforting atmosphere was evident right as we stepped in, and the Tunisian art and artifacts strewn throughout the restaurant transported me out of the Mission. To start, we got the La Marsa (scallops & shrimp in a turmeric, lemon zest, and caper sauce) with the homemade bread. The shrimp and scallops were fantastic, and the sauce had subtle but delicious flavors. I definitely recommend to get the bread to accompany the dish, so that you can sop up the rest of the delicious sauce. For entrees we got the Chreime and Chicken Tagine. Both were very good and provided nice flavor variations, but we especially loved the chreime with its slightly spicy and aromatic flavor. Next time we will get another side of homemade bread or the couscous to go with, as it would have been nice to have something to soak up the extra sauce with. Having not tried Tunisian food before, I loved the meal at Gola. Each dish was super flavorful and light, and left me wanting to try the rest of the menu.

Noticed this spot when walking on Valencia St trying to find a spot to grab a drink and a late night bite at. When I walked up to the menu on the door with my husband, not one but two groups of people leaving the restaurant told us we should go in because it was delicious, and they weren't wrong! We ordered the octopus salad appetizer & chereime (shrimp & snapper stew) and both were delicious. The octopus was super tender - nearly tasted like really soft juicy chicken! And the stew was it had just a little spice to it that gave it a nice kick, but wasn't overwhelming. Had delicious drinks - the Tunisian and Smash and both were delicious. The Tunisian was my favorite though since it was a spirit haven't tried before and it was a very well balanced drink. Sat at the bar and the bartender provided great service & recommendations. The staff overall was very friendly too. Will definitely come back!
