I won't lie- this pains me to give a bad review because the shop is great, but being scammed out of money really irks me. I placed an order online, got an order confirmation email, and then... nothing. They were quick to charge my credit card and then never sent my order, never answer the phones, and have never responded to the multiple messages I have sent via their website. 10/3/23- since I just got a response from the shop I will confirm that I did finally receive the order after I wrote the original review, over 5 weeks after I placed it on 11/16/21. Witty, irreverent nonprofit store selling cute trinkets and piratey things to support a writing nonprofit in the back of the store. Great spot to duck into and explore while walking Valencia Street -- be sure to read all of the signs and open the drawers for some hidden surprises and many jokes. There's a "fish theatre" as well -- exactly what it sounds like! Two theatre seats in a darkened, curtained-off corner of the store where you can just sit and watch a blowfish and a few other fishies in a tank. Cute, quirky, adorable...

This store is a real delight. The front is a dedicated pirate shop with everything one could need to sail the high seas and the back a dedicated writing workshop for children.

If you're looking for a gift for any children or adults who are interested in pirates this is definitely the place. Pins, patches, mermaid tails and more - there is a wide range of toys and paraphernalia.
