HH everyday 4-7!
Came here on a whim on Saturday to watch the last half of the Warriors game with a friend after feeling a bit too claustrophobic at the Tap Room. Surprisingly, there was still plenty of seating with patronage that were a lot tamer. We ordered a mix of HH items and an item off the regular menu.
Guac & Chips: Pretty standard. They seemed like store bought chips, and the guac was lacking that avocado flavor. Can't complain for $5. Fish Tacos (3): Battered fish on top of little street sized tortillas. A little too saucy for my taste (it was dripping out the sides and on the verge of making the batter soggy), but pretty good flavor. Fish was fried nicely. Cesar Salad: Good salad...fresh romaine pieces with a good amount of Parmesan slices on top. Slices of baguette croutons laid on the side. Good dressing to salad ratio too, considering it was premixed.
Good place to relax and watch a game without the crowd. Food is pretty good for bar food and for the price. Waitresses were attentive too and didn't snub us when we could't make a decision and sent her back a few...
Read moreVery disappointing. Sub par food and overpriced drinks. Our party of 4 stopped by to catch the last half of the game and check out a new place. Upon being seated, we noticed the table was damp and very sticky, so we asked if it could be wiped down. They said "its always like that" and dismissed it. The table was so bad that the girls sleeves were sticking to the surface and menus being pulled from the tabletop sounded like velcro being ripped apart. The 2 appetizer options we chose were barely edible, poorly executed and not worth ordering again as they were tasteless and overdone. Both tap beers were flat, the 2 iced teas for the designated driver were $5.00 each and the 2 glasses of wine were shockingly $24.00 each. This particular wine was nothing fancy and a bottle can be purchased for $17.00 at the local liquor store. They also choose to charge the customer a 6.5% fee to pay for employees benefits and a mandatory 20% tip for a table of 4. Thus making each glass of wine $31.00. Fortunately, the sticky nasty table was not...
Read moreI went in expecting a dive. And while the decor says, subtlety, that this place is a dive, everything else argues against the notion... except the prices. If you catch their happy hour you are in for a TREAT! Specialty cocktails, well drinks, beers, and wine, are all a flat $5. Couple that with $11 calamari that is actually perfectly cooked, and you have a winner. I ordered the calamari, guacamole and chips, Ribs, and hand cut fries. The fries leave a only a little to be desired, made up for by the chili aioli that is incredibly flavorful. The jalapeño slaw did make me wonder what was missing, but not enough to say it wasn’t good. Transition from the food to the service and I was beyond impressed. I didn’t have to fret whether I would get my order in before happy hour ended, they brought me the drinks and food I asked for quickly and they were strong and flavorful. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here...
